  • Or see what CRC have on sale at any given time, usually some kind of XC frame on sale which will be better than a 90s Zaskar and cheaper (after sale proceeds from the GT) than converting. Today, this looks good for £135, down from £500

  • you can get adapters for the rear, so no welding required but a bit of drilling. this is a 90's zaskar

The tubes aren't built to take the load. Don't do it.

It'll fail, similar to this -

  • Struggling to get enough funds to build the 456, what do people have lying around that they could part with for cheaps?

  • ^ What are you missing snotter? I have various bits & bobs.

They might be a bit XC'ish for that beast though.

  • At the moment I have frame and forks, I have some ex721s that are on dmr revolvers than I'm going to relace to hubs I don't have yet.

  • And the promise of some bars for beer.

  • The regional manager at work said he'd bring in a few goodies from his garage soon. I may be able to get you a few bits. By the sound of it most of the kit has been replaced due to newer better stuff coming out.

Would you be happy with cable discs?

  • Oh, and what are you going to do with the revolvers when you've built the new wheels?

  • I think someone can get me some elixir 5s quite cheap and maybe some old saint cranks cheapish.

  • Probably sell, I love the ones on my polo bike.

  • I'll have a look in my hoard tomorrow. I've definitely got some hope mono mini's that I want to sell. Possibly some geary stuff and maybe some hubs as well.

    Will let you know.

  • Sweet, hopes would be better than the avids but I am pooor. Rear hub would be good, front would need to be 20mm axle, any parts will be considered and help appreciated.

  • ^ I'll have a think about how much I'd want for the brakes. They probably want a service, but you know what you're doing with this stuff and Hopes are easy to service anyway.

It's these ones. 2004 model, with the old is mount and multiple washer faffing fitting.

  • Probably sell, I love the ones on my polo bike.

Dibs if you do sell. I want to build some tournament wheels. 36hole right?

  • Yup, mine still roll good as new after nearly 2 years of abuse and not even a thought of maintenance, these are practically new.

  • Do it, I just spent 4 weeks there over Xmas riding all over the S Island. So many good trails, but the hills largish (not Alp/Whistler big) good fun on the down, calorie burning on the up.

    Yeah, one factor. Money.

  • ^^ Cool, I'm using a rear one on my mtb and it's great.

  • logic seen, keeping it original, thanks all :)

  • @snotter pair of Hayes HFX9 with goodridge hoses, £30?

  • Ooh, maybe, where from and what with, not as nice as the hopes but would work well for cheap.

  • From my house, non-standard lever blades for less finger slippage, hoses nice and long as previously used with 8" of travel...

Haven't used them since getting them, Bought new instead.

  • Rotors or mounts?

  • Nope, I nicked those for another bike.

  • Cool, I'll look into mount costs after work and tell you at polo.
