Change from a brake which has had the bite point move once in the entire time it’s been installed to some brakes that are famous for having a bite point that varies wildly between each pull of the lever? Not seeing the motivation to be honest.

Oh, and pistons made from flowerpots

Needs a bleed kit on rides
vs.
Sold bleed kit because never needed it.I know which I prefer.

That’s not true, I built the bike three years ago and today it showed that it needs a lever bleed. I finished the ride with no problems- it’s just missing its nice crisp bite point, and the extra lever travel needs to fuck off.

One bleed in three years, can't be bad.

Yeah, overdue to be honest- just wondering what caused the sudden change in lever feel really.

Went to Phoenix bike park with my kids today and it is sick, rad, sendy etc etc.
As an MTB newb it was an amazing place for me to ride. Did some jump lines for the first time. Turns out the secret to getting 85 kg into the air is speed.
Anyway, 100 percent recommend Phoenix. Has everything from beginner to insane advanced stuff on the North Summit side. And a good cafe.

Is that the place just outside Newmarket?

Possibly looking for a wheel upgrade for 27.5 inch Whyte 905 v5. The current wheels are WTB ST I35, with 15mm x 110mm Boost Thru Axle front and 12mm x 148mm Boost Thru Axle rear. Tyres are Maxxis High Roller 2.8s. They weight a metric tonne. Looking for something a bit lighter and narrower and maybe run 2.5 inch tyres. Any suggestions or advice?

Kinlin TL-29 (aka Hunt Trail Wide, Halo Vapour 35) are relatively light for a trail rim, not too pricey, work well with 2.4-2.6" tyres IME.

I think I might still have a pair of KOM i25s in the loft, brand new, if that's of interest

You've got to respect someone that in mid-2024 regularly rides and mantains this fluo nightmare. The build and the vibes are tasty, but i wouldn't get nearer that I-Drive mess even if forced to.

After dipping my toe in MTB, I think I would like something with a nicer spec that is a bit more full-sussy. Which means at the end of the summer I will probably be looking to sell a Whyte 905, rather than upgrade wheels etc.
Anywhere good to test ride MTBs within distance of London? Thinking something like a Hightower 3 would be the sweet spot.

wondered if anyone had caught the red bull hardline on the welsh language tv channel on free view? was delighted to find it skipping through the channels. i think some of the camera angles could be improved, you rarely fully got a sense of how steep and rough the track was.

I have been browsing levos.

• #28645
Yeah, but only watched the first 2mins of it before doing something else. Will try and see what lunacy they got up to.

I love my turbo levo sl. Given the flip chip geometry, relative light weight it is hugely versatile.

Balfe's is your best bet I think. Or if you can go all the way to Sigma ..
