60ml of Stans goes in each tyre.
22T swapped for 19T and removed a link on new chain.
Ultrasonic clean of the old chain for a spare.

@Dammit I'd be very surprised from what you're saying if that isn't excess grease blocking the port. You'll also find that there isn't any oil on the top of the air spring either.

The Nobby Nic/Hans Dampf that I have on my bridle-path wheel set are pretty cooked, what should I replace them with (29") that would be very fast rolling in dry conditions, with no great requirement for grip as they'll be used on the hardtail for SDW type riding?

I've got Schwalbe* on that wheel set currently, I do find them very prone to cutting up/puncturing.

I think they'll work well. I had a 2.6" and it (nor any other Vittoria tyre I've used) suffered damage on the SDW.

I ran 2.6 Mezcals all through winter and even managed a couple of podiums at our local dual races. Also rode them at Gisborough trails this week (think a slightly less steep Golfie) and didn't die (though would have preferred my DH tyres).
They're shit in mud though.
