Conclusion is that running a mullet configuration in the lower setting takes just over a degree off the head tube angle. My fork is a 150, but it's sitting into it's travel by around 15mm, and I suspect the Pace geo chart is with a fork at full extension:

Borrowed from Henry after my girlfriends bike was stolen just before Christmas

so say YOU started with a carbon Stumpy frame, how would YOU build a down country bike out of it?

• #22981
120mm SID, Magura Trail brakes, XT crank, cassette, chain, AXS mech and shifter, AXS dropper, those wheels that Dick was selling, Ergon saddle, Renthal bars and grips, Saint SPD or Nuke-Proof flats

Wide drop bars, Brooks saddle, Spinergy wheels and a Lauf fork

And some brakes which work

frame's built around 140, you don't think that 120 would be a bit too short?
-
• #22985
well it might end up with a C13...

I think my serious answer to your query would have to depend heavily on budget :-)
Important things to start with like the forks/shock and then the wheels, will depend somewhat on your weight too

Yes, I'd fit 140 - but then it's a trail bike.

Hopeful ask - I need a replacement lockring for my Microspline cassette. Don't suppose anyone's recently replaced their cassette and has a spare lockring knocking about? One of these: https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/cassettes/shimano-slx-csm7100-lock-ring-spacer-y0gy98010/

Anyone got some recommendations for a mountain bike club to do weekend rides with in London? I'm based in hackney but not shy of getting a train e.g. to Surrey etc.
Need some structure in my week to get me promptly out of the house! A few of my mates MTB but don't think I'll be able to reliably "book them in" every Saturday.
I'm mostly looking for cross country rides not hardcore trail slaying.

Cheers will check that out!

Then of course there's this lot, but 'regular' is not what I'd call them

They ride every week, and pretty much every Saturday they'll ride somewhere else. Their Saturday rides can be a bit leisurely, and a bit more focused on socialising and jumping rather than a @BareNecessities XC smash fest.
As @BareNecessities has said the Badger rides aren't that frequent, and also there are more rides that are posted in the group.
The Heales gravel rides are great BTW.

Just wear a plaid shirt and hang a bottle opener off the saddle.. maybe some tanwalls if you're really committed..

I’m tempted to go to 160 on my Lyrik when it’s serviced, given where it rides and that I could swap over to the high setting on the rear linkage.
