I’d happily head up to Scotland, where’s good for mountain biking? I’m assuming there are some places with uplifts and ski-slopes, given the pointy ness and coldness of Scotland?

In my experience the riding in Scotland is exceptional but I don’t believe it’ll be what you’re looking for with the Pace.
It’s been a few years since I was last there but memory from where I’ve visited the trails there are very good XC and tech trails but scant in the way of bike park/built trails with many offerings wheels leaving the ground (other than natural kickers). Also in the 20 or more times I’ve visited BPW in the passed 3 years I’ve met Scots visiting and riding there as the difference to what they get on their doorstep is night and day.
I’d say you might have slim pickings for options. I usually say do a road trip in the South West and South Wales taking in Windhill, Black Mountain and BPW parks plus the Cwmdown uplift at Cwmcarn.

However BPW is fully booked for the month, Cwmdown aren’t currently operating. -

BPW fully booked full stop, or fully booked for uplift? I’d ride up, if that was an option

(I’ve not yet fully given up hope about France, but it’s seeming increasingly unlikely)

You can ride up with a day pass. Bout £12 I believe

I think they are bookings only at the mo, so you can't just rock up and ride

Dify bikepark (the atherton one) still has uplift slots available in September. They also recently opened a couple of red trails rather than just their big gnarly pro ones.

Definitely worth a trip

Confirmed that I can’t get insurance for mountain biking In France. Should I run the risk, or should I go somewhere in the UK?
-
• #17669
Do you really need to ask that?

I cancelled France, and then booked a hotel in Morgins. That’s not on the list and therefore my travel insurance will work.

I'm still holding out for Switzerland at the end of September. I had been hoping to drive though...

I’m going to stay overnight in Troyes on the way (current plan), but I might swallow that cost and drive straight through, and again on the return as that will avoid quarantine back in the UK I believe.

Looks heavy, what does it weigh?

Lots. I don’t actually know, it’s a big bike though.
Scotland.
