Hah, if you are expecting cheap aluminium hard tails to look top dollar then maybe you have a problem. If you want it to look good, find another £300 and get a Chameleon.

It doesn't cost more to not bend tubes

This...
I do not understand the obsession of curvy tubes on mountain bikes. I get that it looks jazzy to mirror the profile of the wheel on the seat tube but it's a bloody nuisance for dropper seatposts...
I also don't understand the trend of having a more compact main triangle at the cost of having a big nib of seat tube above the top tube that requires gussetting...
I've probably just outed myself as a philistine.

Modern aluminium frames will mostly have weird hydroformed, bent or braced tubes
Time for your nephew to learn about the realness of steel!

On that note my Big Dog takes a nominal 2.8" and isn't too expensive

Nukeproof scout does all that as I wanted one but the distributor only sell them to certain shops, they sold me a ragley Marley which is almost the same geo wise dead cheap as they had a sale on, dunno if they'll sell them to anyone with an account now though.

Not very cool though are they?
off the internet Whytes are "cooler" than santa cruz tbh. Free linkage bearings for life goes a long way.
All the plasterers vans in the trial centre carpark will have a t-150 in

it helps that their FS bikes have been both bangers and reasonably affordable. T-130 in particular.

and 'uk mud clearance'
-
• #16814
they ride incredibly well and their top end bike is "only" 5 grand, which makes it a surprisingly easy sell
-
• #16815
also their £500 bikes have the same geo as their 2 grand bikes which a lot of people like
-
• #16816
Dont hype them up, if they become cool And expensive i cant buy them
-
• #16817
Yeah but some of their alu tubing is hydroformed and that upsets my delicate sensibilities
-
• #16818
Presumably loads of Barristers also?
-
• #16819
Sorry for not wanting to spend £500 on something I don’t like. How pathetic of me
-
• #16820
Oh nah that's totally fair enough, you do you. I just wanted to point out whyte are actually held in pretty high regard
-
• #16821
You are pathetic

if you're under 6'1" buy an L if you're over buy an XXL, it's simple
