Interesting. I've heard logical arguments in each direction.
(Larger=?more steamrollery/stable, Smaller=?more flickable).I'm borderline between L and XL. So I choose L for trail bikes mostly ridden in the UK and XL for enduro bikes mostly ridden in real mountains.

Interestingly I knocked up all Canyons and I'd be better on an XL for some stuff, and then I can run shorter stem and have the stack needed.
I think it just depends is the best advice!

Yeah, I mean I probably should be on an XL but I used to ride around on a Medium for ages and didn't die. Don't think fit matters so much on MTB (assuming you're not racing an ultra). 'Feel' and 'chuckability' are also KPIs.

So get both then?

They’re both very different bikes too though right? Xc vs enduro?

Yep, one's too small and the other one's too big ;-)

So Marin are out of stock of the Medium San Quentin frames.
I need to sell the frame, for which I've already bought components and buy something else. Ideally from a company that will give me a b2b account.27.5+, Boost, suitable for a 140/150mm fork, alloy
Orange Crush,
Santa Cruz Chameleon (too expensive)

Whyte? Do they do frame only?

Weren't you going to get him a Marin?
-
• #16789
Well yes. But the San Quentin frame is developed with Matt Jones and he's cool with the kids at the minute, apparently

The medium is a bit too big and the small too small I think

Scalpel SE is the trail version of the Scalpel XC bike, where that means it fits IDK which categorisation.
The Megatower is an Enduro bike, no question, and the RC295 is a trail bike (albeit longer than the Megatower!)

I didn't know how ugly it would be until you suggested it

Dartmoor Primal is about £230, what's wrong with it?
I rode an XL Megatower in Morzine, reach of 490mm, felt great, really comfortable.
My L Scalpel has a reach of 428mm (with a 20mm longer stem). I do feel a bit on top of the Scalpel, but then the BB is 352mm vs the Megatower at 343.
(My new Pace has a reach of 503mm and a bb height of 327!)
