I'd be very interested in getting that. Would like to see more reviews regarding performance and quality. Even at that price I wouldn't want it falling apart in two months.

Schwalbe have quite a comprehensive calculator
I have those tyres and I run 17 up front and 20 in the rear, with inserts now. And weigh 69kg.

Dunno how I missed this when it came out. Really enjoyed it.

Longer axle length pedals?
I noticed all my cranks have a fair amount of foot rub and was pondering options for my wide feet. Cleats are already all the way back so no adjustment left there. I am invested in 25 years of muscle memory with SPDs so a change in systems is not on the cards. Not interested in flats either as ideally I can find a solution that works off road and on.
Google is not giving much for options really. Do any of the non-Shimano SPD pedal makers offer longer axles? Or am I missing an option?

I can't vouch for this specific product, but axle extenders along these lines are pretty widely available:

Yeah. I saw that Specialized used to sell something similar but had to recall them so I'm less keen on that option.

I guess I'll most manufacturers try to limit length for 1) q factor and 2) lit ground strike when lent over.
I've just accepted my cranks will always end up scuffed to shit. If it bothers you, maybe put some invisiframe on them? -

Also, why did I ever decide that all black cranks were the right choice for me? Idiot.

Not bothered about the cranks, mostly concerned for ageing hips and knees. Also. Quarantine boredom and sorting out "pile of bike shit to sell" has me pondering the imponderables.
Crank Bros. has a long shaft Mallet option, but >£100 for pedals makes me wince.

Crank bros do IIRC.
Edit: uh, see you've already spotted those. FWIW Mallets are great pedals.

Yeah. Spenny and cleat system change.

Pedal washers might do the job if you only need a little bit more Q factor.
-
• #15815
All of my current pedals are Shimano. AIUI the Shimano pedals use the minimum thread required by crank makers for engagement. That means that they cannot be spaced with washers.
-
• #15816
Just one little washer though, no one will even know, I won't tell.
-
• #15817
Don't do it! The Shimano police don't mess about D:
-
• #15818
Any recent shimano pedals I've bought came with a spacing washer in the packaging

Hmm. May give that a go then. Will report back. If not, avenge my death!

Issi do different spindle lengths and pedals that take SPD cleats. I presume you've got the cleats set to the innermost side?
-
• #15821
I do.
The posts I have seen elsewhere (an in fairness, are not that new) do not have good things to say about Issi - as in multiple pedals replaced under warranty. Again, that info may be a few years old so if anyone has newer, better experiences with Issi it would be great to hear them.

Rode through a poo today, it flung off the front tyre onto the linkage and stuck there, luckily didn't splatter and most of it could be poked off with a stick.

What a shit story bro.

What's the good 2.6 front tyre for general bimbling around south downs/surry hills? Think I'll put barzo at the back.

It's only the first draft, but I do have a publishing deal with Andrex.
Thanks Howard!
