Do you have a way of measuring how much the frame and shock weigh?

Purple bits = excellent start

Erm...yeah I'll weigh the orange before I start stripping it down tomorrow then weigh the Cotic after it's built? It's got the BB & headset cups and some cabling in it now.
Just from feel it’s not as light as the orange, but by no means is it a boat anchor.

What do you mean?

Nearly there but the Hope calliper doesn't fit on the rear end, so I'm gonna need a bigger rotor, and adapter. And I need an upper headset bearing, as I thought it just push out from the other frame but instead exploded, and isn’t the same now I’ve re assembled it. And I’m not sure this dropper isn’t too long for this frame. Bikes...FML
Cat thinks he’s assisting.
@psg1ben - not sure yet.

Is that shock metric?
-
• #14987
Yeah 200/45

• #14988
Anyone need a 184/44 standard mount? Have one spare.

Did you get your shock sorted in the end?
-
• #14990
Have you tightened the crank bolts enough though?
-
• #14991
Yeah. Long and painful process
-
• #14992
I've got Shimano now, none of that single bolt nonsense.

I got a gangster bike duck as a secret Santa gift. Thought it seemed a bit crap at first but I actually love it. The propeller on his head spins when you cycle along and he has already survived a few DH runs at Woburn so I think that qualifies him for the MTB thread (rather than the shit gifts for cyclists thread which is where I originally thought he might end up).

Thinking of hiring a bike at Swinley,
Is it worth it? Maybe I should just try to borrow a bike.
Also, what's the suggested route there without a bike? -
• #14997
Train to martins heron. Bring a road or cross bike, ride to Swinley from MH. lock it up when you pick up the hire bike.

• #14998
I used to rent a full suspension one last year and it was fine, especially if you want to make sure that you don't need a full one in Swinley.
+1 what Howard said or take a 30 mins walk - it's quite nice there.

Nice, cheers for the advice. I will try to borrow a bike, but good to know that hiring is worth it.
Won't be going until Feb in the case that someone wants to come with. -
