• Those beginners are way above your level alright.

  • In other news, I'm out for tonight.
Picked up some new bruises and aches overnight as a result of those couple of clashes with Arunas where I came off the worse, need to give my legs and chest a rest. Til Wednesday then.

  • oh and for what it's worth, I feel that I learn more when I play with players above my level than at the same level. I improved quicker when I started going to both beginners and NE sessions.

    This, so much.

It's one of the reasons I would welcome any beginner player at intermediates, it's not about me, or whether I want to play with them or not, it's about supporting the rest of London polo, and getting more and more people up to a higher level.

  • ^^

    Be warned sirens!

  • It was never under debate that playing with better people improves your game, that's obvious.

Intermediate sessions are about getting people to play at a higher level...

  • cats ruined polo, but made the meme thread.

    This, so much.

What works for you lads might not work so well for everyone else. Just saying, etc.

  • North London >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • There are two parts to improving, yes playing with better players is a good way to learn the theory and see what's possible, but it takes actual time on the ball to put it into practice.

That is what beginners and intermediates are good for, beginners know they can get some time on the ball in Peckham and intermediates know they won't be spending the whole time chasing a great player as can happen in throwins.

Having said that I think everyone should be welcome at b cats, just as beginners often has 'casuals' down.

    Less getto's more polo.

  • weren't you all arguing about whether league games should be played on mondays?

  • London polo has many things to be proud of, this thread is not one of them.

  • there is at least two pages of crap music

  • I forgot about that, maybe I was wrong.

  • There are some pretty good burns in there, if you wade through all the guff...

  • John, if you come to play tonight, bring me one of the mallet pole. thanks :)

  • Sunday morning high octane at Downs,

It's not high octane. Its just some sunday mornings some people organise team games.

"high octane" or any such exclusive session (including b cat) is bullshit.

  • Whoever left a SIS water bottle at Newington on Saturday, I have it.

  • anyone up for games tomorrow?

  • In for tonight anyways, should have new wheel too.

@Arunas, could you bring those 26" wheel covers you have? Thanks.

    I won't be there tonight.

Yeah I know, it just works out that way in my mind.

    Does that include beginners?

  • bee cat

  • Does that include beginners?

Yep, beginner teams can play team games on Sundays, polo is for everyone, simples.

Sundays are mostly organised offline to avoid flack, guarantee there will be at least two teams in attendance and to organise an early start time (before 9am, etc). Be warned: Sundays can be fast and brutal.

  • I thought he meant this

    Apols if not.
