I've only ridden it twice, but I did ride the the vertical strip round the top briefly during the devil to avoid a time-trial specialist's sudden decision to move up while I was overtaking him :S
Doing a flying 200m, and going round the bend on the pursuiters line at about 40mph with your ear nearly scraping the ground is fun too!

Ridden it once, didn't have the bollocks to ride up the top.
One plank tried to do it s-l-o-w-l-y, cue much laughter from the rest when gravity finally caught up with him and he slid down the boards to the blue safety zone.

tommy et al. i am actually thinking of staying in lymington bay this time, and just ferrying across on the day for the ride.
riding london to portsmouth is a good ride actually. but the group i will get together are definitely more of a train lot. poss some in cars. we've had no trouble getting bikes on trains in the past. and there is a regular service so if slight problem then group splits into separate trains.

There's no regulations at weekends, apart from certain days like the L2B. I still think the guard has some sort of discretion though.

I'm up for the IoW ride as well, could be a real laugh.

I'm glad it's gonna be cold. I can debut my new merino jersey (courtesy of Rollapaluza), sandwiched between a knackered old merino base layer, and my eVent windshell wotsit.
Other than that, it'll just be Belgium kneewarmers, Endura padded briefs, and some SPD sandals :p

I just entered this: http://www.cyclosportives.co.uk/devilHome.htm
I'm not gonna ride any of these sportives, I'm just entering them so you think I'm doing loads of cycling. :PTomorrow I'll be wearing the oldest, thinnest ensemble of tight lycra I can find.. or my Croydon kit which is probably one and the same.
Knee warmers or full legs you reckon? Lights for a return ride or cash for the train? Undershirt+jersey+windvest or jersey+jacket? Hmm.. -
• #192
Mmm, skinsuit made from bog standard tan tights nylon. Cippo special.
Full legs / cash for train.
Might not do jacket option if it's DEFINITELY NOT GOING TO RAIN...
-
