  • The Planet-x ones are pretty solid for the monies. Fit well over my shoes, so the toe doesnt lift from putting my foot down in the snow. The openings are pretty big though, and I'm currently having to run them with NW Aerlites. WHich are fecking covered in vents. SO I cant say I have happy feet.

  • like most castelli overshoes they're pretty good but are not the most durable - also if you have chunky ankles you'll struggle to close the zip fully and the zip will creep down

  • Don't know about those, but my Endura ones are now 3, and kept my feet toasty warm this morning.

    My fingers were envious.

£20 from Evans as I recall for the Endura.

  • Actually I might take that back:

Plus 30 miles after work ended up with this:

  • I've an unused spare pair of the Endura ones on a sales thread - size large for a tenner if anyone wants them

Don't know about Dammits frothing feet but in my experience, Endura make good stuff - they fit over Sidi Dominators too

  • Ah, to clarify- that's bubble bath, I was testing the temperature of the water with my CorpseFeet, hoping that the blood might come back into them a little faster if I heated them up.

This winter if I could only solve the hands and feet issue (namely, they get chilly, all the blood vanishes) I'd be the happiest man in SE London.

  • I go with those woolie boolie merino socks ( I swear by them actually) and gortex oversock if it's wet. Squeezed in to the dominators. Not cold and pretty happy in SE London

  • That's the boys - and that's a v good price too

    They won't disappoint

  • I'll ask Santa for some, cheers for the tip. Now- gloves?

  • Cheap wool - even when wet it stays pretty warm. Plus dries quick on your hands. Think of sheep - they rarely shiver.

  • I've got some DeFeet gloves which are really nice, but they have just got out of their depth in the past few days.

  • You want a wool liner and separate outer to resist the elements. I've actually found my winter kit functions better now that we're well into freezing temps. The wet and windy UK shite (our autumm) is fecking tricky to deal with.

  • ....and stop posting pics of your feet some of us read this before our morning coffee :(

Next step will be merino socks, MW80 insulated boots, and shoe covers over the top of those.

If that doesn't work I guess I will have to set fire to my feet.

  • Would silk socks be better than merino?

  • Have you ever seen a cold sheep?

  • Yes.

  • Cold shoulder is not the same as being cold.

  • That's why i was wrapping my naked body around it.

  • How about a cold silk worm?

  • My thinking being that silk glove liners work very well, and I havea pair of silk socks at the back of the sock draw.

I shall give them a go in order to further our knowledge in this vital area of research

  • I'm glad I'm subscribed to this thread. I cannot wait for the next gripping update.

  • Dammit

How tight are you shoes? A snug fit can limit the amount of room for air to be trapped and act as an insulator.

  • Right- water runnin underneath the edge of overshoes, is electrical tape a potential answer?
