  • Looks at sausages

    Whistles

  • also. props to murtle for sorting out the ancient headset.

  • Lovely to met Ved, Dov and Jonny again. And all the others, Andrew, Hippy, Dan(?) Damien(?) I'm sorry if I have forgotten your names. Next time I'll actually try and join the *norths *crew on the ride to Wests.

    Hope the bin is ok

  • I feel bad I didnt say hello to certain people that have been decent to me here. Also, Im sorry Im poor at starting/continuing a conversation, as im deaf, and new speakers + new lip reading patterns = brain exploding. Ive got a mirgine cos of it! However again, brillant crowd, beautiful bikes, specially THAT purple one!

Pfff, don't bother speaking to Murtle then, I swear! Wait, maybe you'll be better at it than we are!! guffaw

  • I'm doin' ok, guys, thanks to everyone who asked. I was sad I missed the last Crabtree so came on to sneak a peak but was too tired for much of anything & went to bed. Got banged up a bit, but didn't lose too much bark on the chin, just a big gash in it. Grumpy trauma nurse glued it back together & everything else is just an out-of-whack jaw, scrapes & bruises, nothing broken! hurrah!

  • Ah last night was so much fun. Very good send off for the Crabtree - 45 people or so was the estimate, Feck! Good, good times, everyone was in fine fettle.

Jayloo - sorry to hear about your little scrape, we can compare chin scars* next week.

Oh and if we can do BYOB to the Meat Pit then I'd be happy with that as a future venue.

    *not you Ray

  • Nice to meet you too arvy dude, not sure if I saw you after our run to the meat pit.

Also awesome to see the Norths crew too. Great night.

Jen - I boughted you some rum especially, hope you're ok. When DJ heard you weren't coming he gobbled it all down.

    Did someone say sausages...

  • Looks at sausages

great turnout, good to see the north guys and tricity out this way. and DDM
always good to see the usual bunch. shame we got to move on that place is perfect.

    @jonny, i'll try

  • Great night. Heal up Jenne, that photo looked nasty.

James must be forced to answer for stealin' a hurt girl's rum!

glad your ok Jen. hope you weren't too badly shaken *ambulances are free in england :)

Well, I'm just going by the doc's statement that I may still get a bill. Even had a tetanus shot! Thank god it didn't hurt.

Great night. Heal up Jenne, that photo looked nasty.

Thanks, matt, I was glad we took it, though don't have any of the gash itself. Doc said she could see the bone through the skin when she pushed it apart to check for debris! ewww!

  • Was good to enjoy the West's hospitality last night and nice to see everyone. No doubt us Northies will make another pilgrimage out west soon enough.

Jayloo, saw the pic, hope the chin heals up quickly.

    Enjoy your Friday folks.

  • Doc said she could see the bone through the skin when she pushed it apart to check for debris! ewww!

    barf

  • Great night. Heal up Jenne, that photo looked nasty.

indeed it did look eeeek! worthy. GWS.

  • who thought it would be a good idea for me to arm wrestle that one eyed aussie!?

    get better soon jayloo!

  • I only popped in for a quick chat and ended up staying a long time. I was late this morning. oops.

    highlights:

    • subtle bent/twisted forks on the £20 bike. (still a great purchase)
    • the blue shiny thing on the 'student' bike ;-)
    • James and his lovely titanium toy.
    • Thomson seatposts.
    • the heart shaped sunglasses
    • the people. great to see so many!

    and the truly epic:

    • ceramic bearings on the Moser.

    It went like this:

    • pickup front end, spin wheel.
    • goes round (no shock there)
    • 1 min later - still going round. (errr)
...keeps going round till you are 'wtf' and put the bike down in shock.
  • Jenne

If you failed to make it to Wests its not my fault that you missed the rum.

Stay upright until I pile drive you into the floor, none of this leaping at cars nonsense.

Heal up fast, but you have to be in it to win it, so next time turn up to drinks.

  • Nice night folks and folkettes. Nice to meet you arvy and PGM and was that T4NYA I was talking to with hael? Also good to see DDM again. Who was the self-confessed tight jean wearing Brick Lane hipster I was chattin' to? Sorry man, I've forgotten your name. Good to see Jay smiling after her accident. Hope you slept ok with all that gravel rash. Also had a nice chat with a random bloke outside your house about MJ and his bikes. He loved the Condor.. bright times.

  • oi, you westies ... and norfs as well, i made it out there in a bit of a zigzag route tbh. real nice place for the beers the crab tree is. i enjoyed my stay, met a few peeps i recognized, new fellas and ladeees, waited ages at rehydration stops (tm) at the bar to the point, that i went there with a half full cup for continuous pintage. still loads of fun out there. i lost a 5er betting on a scottish guy armwrestling a kiwi(? was he?) pirate. it took ages for them to get it going and to sit down, then money out on the table, "GO!", *flap and the money was gone. ha! much like the last scene out of Four Rooms. epic laughs afterwards.

all in all nice mood there, caring peeps, too as jayloo's stunt news made the round. heal quick! and murtle_FTW_let_me_have_a_look fiddling with VeeVee's brake as she really was out there almost. "...feels a bit spongy, no?!"

i, too, enjoyed the route back, which strangely came together perfectly without detours and roads mostly for myself given my state of ... well my ... you know *ehm balance ;)

thanks guys and see ya all at south easts next tuesday then, hehe!

  • Who was the self-confessed tight jean wearing Brick Lane hipster I was chattin' to? Sorry man, I've forgotten your name.

    Fiver says it was Cake...

  • Haha, that was cake. Good to meet you Hippy along with all the others I met for the first time. To all the others who I spoke to, it was a pleaseure as always.

  • Cake.. good name. I like cake.

  • Fiver says it was Cake...

    Your on...

    Fuck. lost that bet.

Good to meet ya hippy and all the other new faces.

Awesome evening, sufficiently sober enough to head off to the pub soon.

  • James - we would have shown up had I got out in time. hehe!

I am quite tired today. Time for a liquid lunch, chewing's not so easy. But no beer, eh? Milkshakes! Thanks everyone for the hopes of a quick healing time (I used to say I'm Wolverine, so I expect all the road rash to be gone today. ok, maybe tomorrow.)

Mattty, too bad we didn't get a pic of that I could show it to you & make you barf for reals!

  • I'm going to be really self-indulgent and post a picture of my new bike seeing as I kept going on about it at people last night.
