    All systems go, then!

  • Yes, but I just realised that I need pedals and some wheels and a brake lever. I have absolutely ZERO free time and over the next few weeks so it will sit there taunting me like some derranged American football coach.

"5 months and this is what you do? You wait? You pansy! Take me out of this box! Build me you pantywaist! What part of HTFU do you not understand? Give me 20 laps!"

  • I've got MKS Sylvan pedals new and boxed for £53, if it helps, RRP £76.
And a neat Condor brake lever for 26mm.

  • Nope. SPDs. £15 cheapy shimanos will be fine. Wheels will be far more expensive. Thinking Susuze Promax/CPX 33 rims. May go Miche huns though just to avoid mixing shiny hubs with matte rims. Brake lever should be easy.

  • £53 for Sylvans?

Yeah, go on and rip off the American!

  • chris - hit me up for a pair of pedals, have a spare set in the drawer you're welcome to have

  • Great night, although seems I left just before Murtle started sporting his fetching headwear. Shame!
Great to see everyone, looking forward to next week, I may even take a look at the polo...and Laurent / Lolo, champagne cork bar-ends ftw!

  • £53 for Sylvans?

Yeah, go on and rip off the American!

These are RX-1's if you don't mind!

  • I have Murtle's cod piece in my bag. It will be coming to Souths on Monday for a photo (with Corny I blieve), before being handed on to South Easts...

  • I'll be on the polo bike, so I'll be pretty slow, Don't know if you will want to ride over at old lady speed?

Pfft, "old lady speed". He still had me huffing and puffing and chasing after him!

  • £53 for Sylvans?

Yeah, go on and rip off the American!

Right? For god's sake, Britain, they're only like $40, even in ritzy NYC fixed cycling shops!!

These are RX-1's if you don't mind!

Oh, I see. Ok, those are mighty purdy. I'd get them if I had money coming out of my ears. I've got regular MKS sylvans I'll trade you for 'em! Haha! (right.)

Buddha, I was loving those, like you mentioned but I think instead I'll save two wine bottle corks, see if they fit.

  • really enjoyed that visit to wests having had it set on swerver for the last couple of weeks.

    a. cheers dmc for the saddle.
    b. jayloo, thanks for not stabbing me in the eyeballs

I do what I can, sir!

    good stuff!

  • ^ maybe once the codpiece has been round all the drinks there should be a celebratory bike ride, olympic torch style, maybe murtle could set it on fire and lead the charge round London...;-]

  • Brief but nice Wests last night, good to see all.

cheers for sorting out my saddle Murtle and Prav for the pump.

Liking the extended opening hours at the licenced chippy.

  • chris - hit me up for a pair of pedals, have a spare set in the drawer you're welcome to have

So, cupboards full of coffee machines and pedals is your thing.. freak ;)

  • Hehehe...Ed put this together for me. First time I did the full 20 mile commute. Thought I'd commemorate the moment in my own silly way.

  • :d

  • Straight into the chicks on bikes thread.. :)

  • Elguapo wont be pleased.

  • Hahaha

  • Buddha, I was loving those, like you mentioned but I think instead I'll save two wine bottle corks, see if they fit.

You're not going to use some nasty composite cork from an aussie/yankee bottle, are you?
I can help you with my unlimited supply of champagne corks: Pommery, Henriot, Laurent-Perrier...

  • Corks are an outdated method for sealing wine bottles. Screw tops ftw

  • Oh dear...
