Time to move on. Le Raven is a decent enough boozer IMO, but it's not really working for us any more.
I agree with Dov about the bikes - stands/railings outside might have to do. Otherwise we're severely limiting our options.
As Ada suggests, let's do some research. Then make a decision. Then stop going on about it :-)

You're all welcome at my local.

But it's a bit of a commute.

Ada would be arrested for wearing those hot-pant things she's always in

We could start around kensington olympia. Murtle and Bobbo mentioned some places that are worth checking there.
I can think of a few good places, around there. How about the Queens Head in Brooke Green. We can lock the bikes with the fence opposite and see them all the time. Beer garden for the summer, menu looks reasonable. The only downer is that it is a Fuller's chain pub.
Should point out I haven't been there in a while.

Fuller's pubs are ok and they often have Thai food served by ladies who look like they may well be able to play ping pong without a paddle!

In!
Oh.

We've had Wests beers there before. Can't remember why we didn't stay there.

Price of low grade meat products or another episode of chip-gate?

i recon the rocket at acton central would be a pretty good option, lots of railings just out side, ok food, live music, near the overground, friendly staff, i like it there anyway. ?
-
• #23839
the rocket could be an option, nice pub.
-
• #23840
I really like The Rocket, and The Station House just up the road as well. Maybe a bit too far west though??
-
• #23841
about 2mins from the QA
-
• #23842
I think you'd need to cycle @45mph to get there in 2min.
It's only 1.5 miles from raven, so no, it's not far from there but i don't think we should be moving too far west. -

fair enough but the last paragraph says this
The original brewery having been bought out by Fullers, to then rise from the flames 90 years later in 2012 makes the Lamb story a resonant one.
Anywhere in west to get decent ale?

Still further west though - I thought the plan (however vague!) was to go a bit more central if anything?
-
• #23848
yeah, although it's a good pub, maybe a bit too west.
-
• #23849
ohhh. yeah !!! now the lamb is a good idea, good food, loads of room, nice beer garden ect..
-
• #23850
Haha, not that much more central..!!
