  • In the same boat, new house with a garage which is really nice... got a little workshop in the back which is cool but nowhere to lock the bike to really... was thinking of drilling and clamping into the floor and then using the kryptonite to lock to? Answers on a postcard

  • Krypotine locks take a few seconds to destroy with bolt cutters, according to youtube anyway.

My setup, with a concrete garage floor is:

Torc Ground Anchor with the Protector 13mm Chain and a Squire SS50CS lock
    http://securityforbikes.com/proddetail.php?prod=TorcAnchor

Last week some scrotes got into 8/14 garages in the block next door with only a screw driver. My door is an up and over type so I'll be adding a set of D613 enfield garage door bolts soon.

  • Yep it's an up and over door and we do have power to the garage... looks like a floor clamp might be the way forward. The previous owner never locked the garage as it's a very quiet round here, so a new main door lock will be first on the list as there's no key to lock it as will a new side door, as the one we've got has had it. The krytonite is one of the beefy bastards so I think they'd need more than bolt cutters... I hope!

  • http://securityforbikes.com/ post on here (as pragma) and have a good reputation. Plenty of options on there for ground anchor and big chain/padlock

  • Anybody want a bike shed? Have a 7x3 bike shed which will be redundant in the next few weeks and needs dismantling and removing. It's one of these:

    http://www.tigersheds.com/product/tiger-pent-bike-store/?option=883&gclid=CjwKCAjwtdbLBRALEiwAm8pA5f-cVR7e-m1_Oe7KfkUILZ-6kGqCWLjDtmkwyFJzpmRc1Aoe4yaCHxoCuhUQAvD_BwE

Had three bikes plus a frame/wheels and bits and bobs in it comfortably. Currently got two bikes plus a lawnmower, a turbo trainer, some folding chairs and a load of paint and tools crammed in. It's been up only 6 months or so and in very good nick. Free to anyone who can collect from Faversham, E. Kent ME13 8SD

Should be available in the next 4 weeks or so. Drop me a pm if interested.

  • Does a vertical bike stand exist that doesn't require all sorts of drilling and fits where the chair is?

  • Clug and 3M Command pads?
Clugs don't hold the weight so could work well

  • The FAQ on their website says otherwise, haha
    Did anyone try it though?

  • Oh. Well my bad

  • Bump without a price drop!

  • Finished building / installing a trimetals bike store this morning.

Spendy but very happy with it.

  • I just bought one of these. Does the same job for a tad more money.

  • I need to build a small shelter in the garden as the flat I've moved in to doesn't have as much wall space as I remembered! Do we think Osb3 covered in roof felt would last the winter?

  • Most shed roofs are osb, keep it dry and it will be fine.

  • What brand is your bike store? Now thinking a metal store like asgard might be the way to go as it might have more future use /resale potential when we move again in a year or so

  • I am going to store my wifes bike in our outside cellar (underneath the stairs of the flats above us). It's secure and only we have access but its pretty damp in there.

Is there any soft bike covers which will cover the whole bike and can be sealed? All the covers online are open at the bottom of the bike.

  • Are they any OTP solutions that would allow me to hang 5+ bikes, without screwing anything in to the wall?

New flat has paper walls and I ain't got the room to leave them lying about

  • Sorry - completely missed this for some reason....

    It's this one: https://www.trimetals.co.uk/product/metal-bike-storage

  • jesus wept that a lot of money for so much metal pipe
