Stolman pole stand? Circa £30 and hangs two bikes?

Could someone give me an idea for the parts used in Jersey's excellent stand? It looks like scaffold pole, but not knowing the terminology (like what the joints are called) makes them difficult to track down...

I got one of these on special, works fine.

Was wondering where yours was from in that picture. I'm very up for this. Unfortunately moving house in 2-3 months so I'm not sure if it's worth it right now..
Here's how to make it: http://www.ikeahackers.net/2010/06/stolmen-bike-rack-return.html

actually - this one is simpler: http://www.ikeahackers.net/2008/02/stolmen-bike-rack.html

I like Jersey's setting too, it's so arty and practical... ME LIKE!!! But yeah, where to get the pole apart form stealing one from a building site??
-
• #159
Same place builders do - a shop.

But you asked about the wall mounts, not hangers or stands.
I'm confused... -

I made this out of a few bits of wood:

Once kids are around, you need proper safe solutions. I can't get any home made pole.

Nice, but pricey

Good with the low ceilings.
We sell them for £4 cheaper at LMNH ;)

I'm confused...Well anything that could hang my bike in the air really...

hi everyone, haters included.
it's gas piping. sold all over the place for like something cheap per foot.
it comes in discrete lengths and the top part can be cut and threaded at the hardware store to fit your ceiling height. I just fucked up my measurements which is why i have that wood up there.
the two lower pieces are the same length.
I just picked up my bike by the seat until the front wheel left the ground and went to the store with that measurement and my ceiling height.
thread it all together. measure it. ask the gentleman to cut/thread you a third length which makes up the difference. Once i'd i'd really tightened all the piping down at home, i'd lost an inch or so on my over all height. I didn't expect that... hence the wood at the top.

I was going to do this; edit: as well

But made the mistake of painting the wall a nice neutral colour that the wife liked.

Theatrical chandlers. Smaller neater pipes and fittings than normal scaffolding. The gas pipe one shows good thinking though.

Thanks for the info all :) Allen key tube fittings. Sounds obvious, but didn't have a clue! I can see a workbench and storage system for my garage on the horizon!

Getting this down soon ish... excited no more bikes invading my floor space.

I did the Ikea hack thing. It worked well, but all in is not that cheap. £50-60 depending on what you've got at home.
Jayloo's sounds better - roughly how much did you pay all in?

Also, without wanting to sound like a dick could you (the OP) not have just searched and read or bumped one of the many threads already dealing with this?

This is the reason I wanted one.
I don't live in a Victorian slum to fit a gas pipe :-PSounds like you need those Rapha gas pipes...
...nice, but a bit pricey.

I did the ikea hacker one and it looks great. everyne that comes to my house likes it.
EEI Cisco is 5 and doesn't touch it at all. I even bump my head on it from time to time and nothing happens -

Massive long shot, but does any one have any spare Topeak brackets? I want to squeeze more bikes into my hallway now that spring has sprung, and my shed should be used for pottering, pipe smoking and propagating...
It's one of these: http://www.cyclestore.co.uk/productDetails.asp?productID=21622&categoryID=87
