I like drinking in shoreditch, hoxton, but it is becoming more like soho everytime I go there, lots of tourists and out of towners crowding the streets, for what its worth I've had good times in Cargo, Big Chill Bar, Cantaloupe (but not for a while now), the hoxton bar and grill, jaguar shoes and bar kick.

From what you said in the Emma's ride, I think today is your stag night? No?

Hey guys, I went out pub crawling a bit today and I've been searching here and online, But I just don't know London well enough and my head is spinning!
We are getting married in Southwark and the plan is to ride from the registry office in Southwark to the reception. We need to find a bike friendly pub that can handle 60+ people and is within 4-6 miles from Southwark SE5.
The floor is open to all suggetions!

The Coach and Horses or the Prince Regent both spring to mind.

What Andy said, The Regent is also closer to your gaff... Both have function rooms but the C&H won't charge you for theirs... First Souths wedding? ;]
-
• #108
I thought about the C&H, But it seems a bit small. What do you guys think about the Roebuck on Great Dover Street?
NOt sure about it's bike friendliness? Not to many places to lock up.
-
• #109
The Roebuck's OK, not a massive fan... Go down and have a look tonight, there'll be forum folks there...

if it has to be spits south, then the C&H.

Right! The Prince Regent over by Herne Hill. I like that place. Might be good.

I hate to beat on the souths love, but the Grand Union, just up the road from C&H on Acre Lane has a massive garden that you can take bikes into, and a good sized function room upstairs, check it out fo sho :)

the Prince Regent is a good call. the Grand Union is part of a tacky chain but i only remember the one on acre lane when it was called something else and really quite horrible. it may have changed. the C & H is too small for 60 human units for sure.

I'll go over to the Prince Regent today. Keep the suggestions coming.

I'm not sure what kind of a venue you are after, but I went to a birthday party at this place:
http://www.6stchadsplace.com/ I am sure it would do the trick for you. I did a quick google maps and it is just inside your 6 mile limit. 60 people would be no problem and there would still be space inside for bikes as well as railings outside. I am pretty sure that the guy who's birthday it was said that it was free hire on saturday evenings. -

Crown an Greyhound in Dulwich village? That place is mahoosive, and they've let me and friends bring bikes through to the garden.
The Ten Bells, the Griffin and there a nice one down from the Hoxton Boutique (Hoxton square) with a roof top bar - but the name escapes me. The Carpenters arms has a gnarly duke box too.
