something to do with how many posts per page your preferences are set at, if you have more than the default (like I do, to avoid having to keep clicking on rather than just scrolling down)

I've not changed the default, but I get it...

It only happens when the number of posts is divisable by the posts per page. So I assume the php is set to new page when >= rather than >...
