  • honestly not a lonely heart but i keep spotting the same chap nearly every day and i'm sure someone must know him. it's bugging me now!

been passing each other going in opposite directions sometimes twice a day for about 9 months now. me going from kilburn to southwark in the morning and him the other way. obvs vice versa in the evening. despite this regular mutual spot only got on nodding terms last week. maybe he's shy. i know i am.

first spotted the feller on upper regent street or thereabouts many months ago but lately the morning flypast has been occuring northier and westier: regent's park, lords, maida vale, kilburn high road, brondesbury and then yesterday i was rolling up to my house from sainsbury's with a bag full of soup ingredients having a crafty end-of-commute fag when the same dude came belting towards me from my own street... well the street i live on. you know what i mean. really odd. we must do nearly exactly the same commute but in the opposite direction.

that or he's doing my missus.

green frame, risers, long black/brown hair emerging from a skate helmet. i'm pretty sure i saw him at polo a few months back when i popped in to collect cornelius b-foot.

    any ideas?

  • SPOTTED:

as I was leaving the post office in wimbledon on foot, opposite the wankabout pub. some bald geezer on chrome bike with blue anodised drop bars, green top I think.

blasting along with all the souplesse of a chimp with a firecracker up it's arse.

    I'm not bald!!!!

I've seen the same bike strapped to a car roof before round the same area. who are you sucker? you need to drop your saddle 5-10mm

    on this car?;

  • edscoble needs to drop his tendency for no-hands, no-feet star shapes whilst cycling way before he thinks about saddle heights..

  • 2 Condors (1 blue, 1 red), 1 Pake, 1 Charge Plug, 1 Bianchi all outside a company on Meard Street...
Nice little collection twinkling in the Soho Sun...
Curious as to the flavour of business going down inside them walls. Or were they all inside the boozer opposite ?

god I still keep finding lots of tiny bruise upon my person ever since I've tried to attempt that.

  • spotted a guy on a gray IRO/BLB frame, black vs, nice stem and bars. tried to shout, but you where on the left of the cars, and i was passing on the right, going over tower bridge.

A nice guy on a road bike talked about Herne Hill with him.

Large feline (pardus pardus) said was going to change but hasn't. Just goes to show you can't trust anyone and some idioms ring true.

I'll be heading east and will be checking if anyone spots me in roughly 28.15 minutes.

  • I'm not bald!!!!

    on this car?;

well you got a shaved head then.

yeah that's the car I think.

I'll throw you some pork scratchings next time

  • Nice fluro orange and white Geof Roberts at TheCrown N1

  • ooh i have a bickerton going spare, what's the deal with them?

bickertons are possibly the worlds worst fold up bike cos they dont really fold up but they for some reason have a semi-cult following. said girl who is nice is donating one to me!! so im gonna do it up for the craic. one bike shop i worked at before had this guy who would come in to get his repaired and i think it was the handle bars that had my jaw dropping...that and the guys pure love for his bike despite the fact that it was held together with gaffa tape. oh! and said girls new bike is feckin mental! i had a go on it in my shop the other day and decided she must have some serious skills cos getting it to go in a straight line was like an endurance test! wicked fun though!!

  • yes, they seem to be fashioned from something that looks like aluminium, but has the properties of wet cardboard covered with cheese spread.

  • haha! yep, very flexible! take yer steel frames and shove 'em! cheese cardboard is the way forward! :)

  • Spotted Ot>O riding east about an hour and a half ago, he looked like a right CUNT.

  • Mmmm, cheese spread..... Right, I'm getting one.

  • Bumped into one of our American cousins on Acre Lane on the way back from Fiddy Drinks, he may come down to the track day... Think he's from SF, he was talking about track bikes, heroin and tattoos in the Bay... Oh, he did make me laugh! Nice fella, another Chris, rides a red Argos... That is all...

  • ok spotted a few today one black with drop bars and orange wheels I think riding into Epsom this morning.

and a surly and a Raleigh in Brighton

  • I spotted my first Unipack today, being ridden round the Elephant & Castle roundabout by what appeared to be a grown man dressed as a schoolboy (black shorts and blazer and a satchel). It's the first I've seen south of the river, was beginning to think it was a north London phenomenon.

  • Particularly lovely pink bike with front blue areospoke and rear red deep V, going west along Old St this morning 8.40 - very striking indeed.

  • Brick Lane on a Sunday morning, there's a guy who sells them, you always see at least one punter wheeling their new bike through the crowds.

Why are all the bike people around there such fucking miserable k-nuts? Right moody bunch of crim-bags. They can't be in it for the money, or else they'd be flogging something like mobile phones, or crack.

Thank you Mr Object, I am extremley pleased you noticed me. Was I riding oh sooo smooth? (I'd like to think of myself as having the elegence and grace of a cheetah stalking it's prey when I'm in the saddle of my Budgie).

And just to reciprecate your kind statement I saw you as well you cheeky devil, on your little bike tootling along without a care in the world. However, I did notice you were sweating and there was a grimace where there should have been a smile. Could I be so bold as to suggest an easier ratio (tip: it will help you get fitter quicker and make your riding less laboured).

Maybe someone could ask Santa for a bigger rear cog, or even a turbo trainer for Christmas that is providing one has been good and not a naughty potty mouth..

  • sigh²

  • i laughed! :D

  • Gal on nice white frame / brakeless going up farringdon rd. 10.05
and then a Guy on what looked to be a Fuji grey and black frame with a 650 front 4 spoke mag by the Holborn hotel few mins ltr.
Everybody looking like they were enjoying the fact that it's Friday AND sunny.

If you saw me yesterday you'd have noticed I was on a polo gear of 50.3
Rear cogs don't come much bigger than the 23 I run.

Your bike, by the way, is less of a budgie and more of a diseased london pigeon. I've had less decrepit bikes put to sleep (for their own good).

Your fine self had all the grace of a liquidised toad on valium.

Who was that old lady speeding past you on a dutch bike? Now that bitch had some style and the requisite speed to go with it. Your grandma per chance?

  • Busy morning for me, for a change:
Two media types, both of whom had obviously paid close attention to the fore-cast, rocking shades in the cloudy weather, the sun broke about 9am, both were vindicated. One on Lots Road.
One on red bike turning onto East Hill as I was backing away from Pablo Escobar in 4-wheel drive, with poor turning circle who had overshot the turning massively. Poor driving but cheery fella.
One riding with/past me on Chelsea Embankment/Grosvenor Road, Orange Bob Jackson, with white rims and saddle, nice bike, surly rider. Some fella in a suit outside action bikes in Victoria, couldn’t help but comment on my stead and touch it, think he’s gonna buy one.
