Might be of use if the front brake failed?

I believe I spotted andyp cresting the top of Beddlestead earlier this evening, full Rolla kit. By the time I'd realised it was you we'd passed.
Come to think of it, is andyp even ON HERE anymore? I haven't seen him post for some time. Anyway, I hope you had a pleasant ride, it was a lovely evening.

I have had a brake cable snap on me, it is unlikely that two forms of braking will fail at once, so always good to have a backup option other than using my face slamming into a solid object

Never happened to me, but it seems sensible to have multiple system redundancy does it not?
It's not like it's a particulaly onerous requirement to have a rear brake caliper.

Hmmm. Who just overtook me on a nineties specialized track frame?
If you're going to ride SS** please get yourself a rear brake. Especially considering how much you weave around the road avoiding manhole covers **as if they are landmines. It might do you some good to check your right shoulder before you do your weird weaving thing too. Not sure you even noticed that car taking evasive action.
I would have had a word with you if I could be arsed to catch you up.
Not sure how a rear brake would make any difference, secondly why did the car have to take evasive action? Too close to the cyclist? not following the highway code and giving as much space as they would when overtaking a car?

Really?
so you use your rear brake to avoid manhole covers?

I think stonehedge means that if the guy wants to ride a SS bike on the streets the rider is required to have two means of functioning braking by law.

All of you are boring cunts. Couldn't you at least take this boring crap to the right thread?

I think I spotted Emmi G trolling on the spotted thread earlier and being a general cunt. I shouted WAC and they obliged.

Especially if you are going to avoid manhole covers?
Makes perfect sense.

No. Avoiding manhole covers was part of what the rider was doing, but they are still required to have two forms of brake on their bicycle. How many more times do you need telling?

Stonehedge clearly implied that it was especially if they were going to avoid manhole covers.

I didn't really mean to imply that it was.
Just figured that if somebody rides their bike in a way that is unpredictable to other road users and pedestrians it might be a good idea to have two methods of braking. You know, just in case you have to stop for any reason.
Y u so grumpy?
