  • What do I have to do to get spotted? This morning, I did half of my normal commute, turned off & rode through Clapham Junction then over Chelsea Bridge and along the Embankment. Crossing back south at Lambeth Bridge, I headed off to London Bridge, down Tooley St, where there was one - *one *- other fixed, then off down Jamaica Road to Greenwich, turned about and came back to E&C. Yesterday, I was off up to Putney on my commute.

I'm really putting myself about here, folks. Reward me with some spottage, will ya!

  • Spotted some other fixed dude riding up Tooley St, just after I came up Jamaica Rd on my way to London Bridge

  • There you go Clarion, could have been you! (or me)

I saw him. Looked like a complete cunt.

  • Ah well. Maybe he did. But I rode down Tooley out East this morning. Chap I saw riding up it was on an Omega.

  • Good to see you again. We do you actually head to for work?

I work in an office on Streatham Hill near the old Megabowl. The office is a complete dive and not very useful now as we used to use it as warehouse space, now it's a full office (too small) with a largely unused warehouse (apart from lunchtime cricket).

Always a pleasure. I'm gonna head to SEs sometime soon

  • It's easy, just stand up when climbing the Alpe d'Londres Bridge

Unless you ride along Tooley St, you're a cunt.

  • Casettes are out, CDs are in!

Iain, you're stuck in the 80s. What's next, legwarmers and a sweatband? You going to lash a Sinclair Spectrum to your top tube and use it as a cycle computer?

^ I'm assuming you're not shifting through your entire cassette while you're doing so though?

My point was really more about people not being able to use their bikes more than a comment on riding ability.

I might get out of the saddle near the top of the hill where Latchmere Road approaches Lavender Hill, if I'm tired. Anybody honking over Chelsea Bridge is either in completely the wrong gear or has noodles for legs. I see people spinning slowly over that bridge in their granny gear and wonder whether they had lithium for breakfast. It's another reason to cross that bridge down the centre line, if possible, rather riding the double red lines.

  • Or maybe they're shifting riding position for other reasons; or practising out of the saddle form; or, or, or…

  • If I'm tired I'm getting out my saddle, I don't cycle to score points. ONE!

  • I get out of the saddle for speed bumbs, sometimes.

Sometimes even on descents and occasionally on the flat.

Sometimes I even just spin round on my smallest gear, regardless of hills.

Sometimes I have noodles for legs. Sometimes I'm in the wrong gear.

I ride along tooley street but I'm also a cunt.

    you can't explain that.

  • I can, every user on this forum is a cunt.

  • and there I was thinking I was special :(

  • ^^^^These are all fair points. I doubt they apply to more than 1 in 100 of the people honking over Chelsea Bridge, though.

  • who gives a shit?

Speed bumps out the saddle are best!

  • ^^Nobody. Why d'you think we're posting here in the middle of the afternoon?

  • I can't work out whether I get up off the saddle in order to break wind, or break wind because I have got up off the saddle.

    Peak times.

  • spotted rosmal delivering me a package at home

  • Hello to you too, you did look like you were miles away (mentally I mean) :)

Nice to see a forumenger on my street.

There are some meetings that do that to you ... :)

I do live just around the corner. Are you in Rendlesham Road, then?

  • ^grooming

  • Hillbilly, passing as I was chatting with Bo just outside Benny's Bar.

This sounds as if it's from a bad novel you're writing. :)
