  • Got spotted by jimmybilly, didn't catch what he said, may have been "POLO!"

for some reason my brain realised he was jim and decided to shout "billy!"?

  • Some cheeky fucker sucked my back wheel all the way up Albany St last night, nice looking old-ish Colnago road bike but rider had all the hallmarks of your average fixie skidderer.

Considering the number of potholes around at the moment, I wouldn't want to risk following someone who might take offence and suddenly land in you in a world of painful shit. Good job I'm not a cunt.

  • mr skully were you riding walworth rd last night about 730? I spotted coaster as i munch a subway.
will the day before as i was getting ear bashed on the telephone too.

  • ^ Ex-flatmate's...
Spotted: Cougar roadie playing a weird game of cat and mouse with me from Tower Hill to Canary Wharf... I'd overtake cuz she was going so slow, then she'd pass me when I got stopped at lights and then slow right down so I'd have to get past her again, blah, blah, blah... This happened three or four times... Get onto the Thames Path past Limehouse and she starts chatting me up!?!
Careful boys, looks like cougar sap is rising a little early this year...
Also spotted, paramounted on the way north from Brixtonia...

Wouldn't a cougar for you be about 75?

    (No offence, like).

    Snigger...

  • Object d'Art heading west on the spice route this morning. At least I think it was him. Hard to tell since he was wearing his "tommy" (tommy = any kind of head/facial cold repellent device I deem unecessary). Mornin' :)

  • I'm walking in a crazy bike wonderland ATM; The Cut @ 7.45am a low pro, a BMX helmet and double rear-view handlebar mirrors.

  • The Corny/Multigrooves doppleganger again in Tooting today.
I smiled at him this time (although it may have looked like a grimace in the headwind), his bike is noname purple and he has a black hat with strips on
Corny type glasses and beardyness, Multi type build.

    It's uncanny I tell thee!

  • White Mercian with moustache bars locked up outside Tesco in Brixton this morning.

    ...

He did look a bit deranged

He needs to lock it up better - The G and I keep on seeing it outside the KFC with non-spunky locking technique. Oh and WTF are those new bike stands on Windwept Square, SW9 - the ones hidden away the other side of Saltoun Road - perfect for bike theft!

  • then Object in full blown ApocolyticPunkVisage

    Ha.

You try having massively stretched lobes on a day like today

  • Windwept Square, SW9

Is this a typo for 'windswept' or a name you made up for the square, do you mean Windrush Square, or is there really a place of this name? Love the name, even if unintentional.

I think we should call these 'tommybricks', just to make it clearer.

  • Hi teenslain! Your holdsworth looks mad spunky-I mean, comfy.
Also hello to the bloke near Bank at about 11am who gave the most knowing of all knowing eyebrow raises as we past each other going oppo direccys!
    Feel so good today.

It was meant to be windswept - have you seen it yet? Very strange. Easily policed is the best word for it.

No, I don't know what and where it is.

You mean they got the design of "it's taken fucking months to get anywhere near finishing it whilst causing chaos to traffic and pedestrians" Windrush Square wrong? Someone should tell Lambeth, rip it up and start again.....

  • I should have a couple of years earlier that it is just Windrush Square. Mention of Saltoun Road would actually have been enough. Yes, a partial success, but lots of work to do still. Lambeth Cyclists have been debating this scheme a lot since it was introduced. We obviously like the improved permeability (http://www.hackney-cyclists.org.uk/permproj.htm), but there are still absurdities like no straight-on travel between Coldharbour Lane and Acre Lane.

If you're concerned with the location of the cycle stands, do raise it with Richard Ambler, Lambeth's excellent cycling officer, directly--rambler@lambeth.gov.uk (great e-mail address).

  • Olly, people are more concerned about where they're going to score drugs without stepping over drunks with dogs on/off string.

  • Ah well, I'm not local, what do I know. :)

  • I'm well laszy when it comes to getting from Brixton Rd up to tesco - I don't want to do laps of the church. I generally cycle across with the peds (tsk tsk) but yesterday had to dismount as there was a late spotted bobby out the front of maccas. Its a pain in the arse.

  • Well the original plan was to incorporate the St. Matthews Church gardens with Tate Gardens (Windrush Square's previous name) making it one big space. Some people objected on safety grounds, so they've left Effra Road to run through it, which is interesting - they're reducing the road width at the mo with a cobbled lane.

But yes, Mark's right - it's about minimising the impact of people the local authority doesn't want hanging around, you know, people with mental health problems or the ones who like a drink or three, and the like. If you want a frappalatte whilst using your Mac at the Ritzy you're more than welcome.

The dealing's just moved to directly outside the Town Hall.

Did you mean that concatenation of names there Oliver?!
