After fixxing that puncture I then managed to get an inch long nail going through my tyre, tube x 2, rim tape and embedded into the rim on OKR outside Tescos.

maybe she values her personality traits more than her vision. (areas of brain being protected)

maybe not as sad as all these helmet wearers weaving through traffic without looking back

This could be an interesting offshoot of our understanding of brain area as it relates to its activity.
For example if you wanted to be more forceful you could wear a helmet that did not protect the area of your brain related to timidity (maybe some Phrenology creeping in here), then go for a brisk cycle in traffic brakless, no foot retention, earphones in, not looking behind you.

Chap in his 40's, complete nut-job, on some charcoal single speed who came up behind me while I was stopped at lights and shouted "Come on come on come on. Get out the way. Stand there all day why dont you? etc" for about a minute. Naturally I told him to fuck off (not realising at this stage he obviously had some issues). He then tried to overtake me as we both turned left and then slammed on his brakes till he was travelling at about 2 miles an hour and made sure he held his hand out (as though indicating despite it being a straight road with no turn-offs) to block me from overtaking.
I sighed, took the moral high ground and and rode into the sunset and shot him 9 times in the face.

Dancing James on the Chiswick High Road, looking over his shoulder at a silver Merc that was about to overtake him. I think he was looking for a fight.
Would have shouted, but I was too busy chewing my own bars riding into that fucking headwind.
