  • i just go my blue deep vs, today... this week has been like some weird kind of bike centric xmass

  • MrSmith i don't care what anyone thinks of me dressed in rapha.

if somebody gives me a derisory look it's just going to make me less likely to give them my custom again whether they be selling me a mobile phone, an espresso coffee, or delivering something.

however the use of the word 'fuckers' was indefensible, the rest of my comment still stands

rapha, mobile phone, espresso, my custom, etc....

what if they need to deliver your filofax but you're in the dagmar?

  • "Mouse got the very witty "Rapha's shit!" from me the other morning. I'm glad I don't sell to you :)"

yeah but you were smiling at me in those pics you sent me :-)

"what if they need to deliver your filofax but you're in the dagmar?"

well i had a fed-ex van cut me up so i would use DHL instead. do people still use filofax?

  • recent spots.

illy - saturday walking down green lanes. never sure whether a walking 'spot' counts, but nice to see a friendly face in what is to me a strange part of town
flip - same day, church street bus stop with the brick lane broken Vs. glad to hear you are back on the road
tommy - last night flying down Holborn, i pulled out behind you from gray inn road but couldn't catch you before slipping a right down fetter lane
?? - this morning, girl on a pink edwards ss dishing out the ham and eggs to the commuter peloton north along brixton road

where are the rest of ya? ;)

  • anyone go down Archway/Holloway Road? I see the odd SS/FG on my way to and from work. I was getting my ass repeatedly whipped (figuratively speaking) by some really old grey-haired man on a Condor this morning. I can only take my hat off and hope I can go that fast when I'm 60...

  • Unlikely, if you can't even go that fast now.

  • I had a heavy breakfast. And he had calves like rugby balls. And GEARS.

  • mongrel anyone go down Archway/Holloway Road? I see the odd SS/FG on my way to and from work. I was getting my ass repeatedly whipped (figuratively speaking) by some really old grey-haired man on a Condor this morning. I can only take my hat off and hope I can go that fast when I'm 60...

Hmmm, grey hair n a condor.... wrong side of town for Mrsmith.

I think I know the guy your on about, he's got a fair few bikes form the Condor to an old Witcomb TT bike and an old early 90's Kona Explosive. I've spoken to him quite a bit he loves racing people on his commute; a fair few people get quite a shock how fast he is for his age.

  • mongrel anyone go down Archway/Holloway Road? I see the odd SS/FG on my way to and from work.

    Pretty much daily.

    I ride a white/purple CONdor.

  • I hardly ever talk to other cyclists on my commute. Unless there's something extraordinary going on - like nearly being run over or extreme rain. Maybe I should be more friendly...

  • I go down the Archway Road / Holloway Road and back on my daily commute from East Finchley to Shoreditch.
Had a blow out at Archway last night, didn't have any tools so had to push it up Highgate Hill. The SHAME! All these other cyclists looking at me like I was an idiot unable to make it up the hill on my 'fixie'. I almost wanted to hie in the shadows.

I ride a black Road Rat frame with orange deep vs btw

  • Hey Mongrel, keep an eye out for a cunt on a black bike with a pink front wheel.
Say Hi when you see him [me]

  • will do Object - I'm on a Bianchi Pista with yellow contis and a flat bar so give me a wave. Although i'm not the most alert cat in the AM. mikec bad news man - i don't carry a puncture repair kit either so would've been in the same position.

On an Archway/Holloway Road note, i really fucking love that bit at the bottom of archway when the bus lane lights are green and you can sweep round onto Holloway road in one crazy manouver if the traffic light gods are smiling on you...

  • It's a sweet junction.
Keep an eye out for Smeear, Rosie and Dogs too.

Sling the bike over your shoulder, and walk up, people will realise you ain't a wuss.

  • Yep photoben, I did exactly that for most of the way up. Until it got really dark by that bit under the bridge then I put it down and pushed it! And yeah Object, Mongrel that is the best junction. Green light or not if you can filter through the bus lane bit, providing theres no bloody bus in the way you can sometimes get a flying run straight down holloway road. Makes my morning. Not so much fun on the way home though. Say Hi if you see me too

  • brett: spotted this morning turning onto Holland Park Ave heading west.
trampsparadise: spotted this morning on clerkenwell rd heading west.

    Wasn't me!

  • You sure? Do you still have facial hair? Damn.. looked just like you. Didn't look like your bike though but I don't know if you still ride the stickered one?

  • Positive. Yes to furry face, no to stickered bike (now a polo-bike). I no longer go anywhere near Clerkenwell in the mornings...

  • Had a very petit chat with Lauren on his lovely white pursuit frame on Bishopsgate this morning.

Although I'm now not so sure if he's ever on hereā€¦
