There are many kinds of ales for many different weathers/seasons.. Light summer ales for the summer (duh), dark stouts and porters for the winter.. Bitters and milds etc for in between
Correct, a mix of hops and barleys gives you very pale (Summer) to very dark (winter) ales. Bluebird, Taiphoon or Elderflower have a fantastic light taste and you can drink them chiiiild (not with ice!) they have ginger, lemon grass, lemon and more flowery additions to lighten them up - sadly you get too few well kept on tap.
but the standard kept in the bottle is getting betterI must admit to having dipped my toe into the experimental waters of pear cider on the hotter days this year. Koppaberg seems to be the nicest, but I have had to stop because I drink it like it is fruit juice, and that makes me mix my metaphors.
i am with Chubby too, that shit is an alco-pop, bulmers/magners is a joke of a pint, that shit takes it a step further. i wouldn't piss on it if it was on fire
Tyskie FTW!
like all holiday beers, that tastes so much better served in the pavement cafes of Poland in the sun, watching the world pass...Out of a tin, on a bench, looking into a playground full or children, drunk at 11am in the burbs of ealing it is a very different pint

i thought i was the only one. wtf is up with this stuff? it tastes like fucking vimto with extra sugar and is the colour of nothing that exists in nature.

Westons is the only acceptable pear cider unless you're trying to get hyperactive off sugar in which case Kopparberg is ace (but tastes gross)
I want some cider.

Real Ale all year round. Lager tastes like fizzy water and acid. You can chill ale y'know!

Jesus sheds a tear for every bottle of this that is drunk, it breaks my heart..

you are all philistines that no nothing
koppaberg is the nectar of the cider gods, too many dry ciders as far as I'm concerned, for a nice balance of sweet and tasty, try aspall's, or better yet aspall's with a twist of blueberry, koppaberg mixed fruit cider is gorgeous as is their elderflower and lime version.
weston's reigns supreme as a cider, but their organic stuff is like 6.5% ABV and does hit you in the head like a mule after a few.
Prefer Bulmers to Magners or Gaymers, Magners is just too gassy for my liking, and when push comes to shove you can't deny a good old pint of strongbow.. -

3 pints of that and I start feeling like a very content old man, sitting on his own chair in the pub he's been going to for the last 80 years, smiling at anyone/thing, red nosed, flat capped, etc etc. mmmmm
