I sold it without the pedals. hes new to the scene having never owned a fixed.
Oh you're joking??
-
• #13828
^ nope, perhaps I need to say something about the pedals?
is it just my laptop messing up or are the wrong posts being quoted?
-
• #13829
Well frankly, it would be a good idea to teach him a little bit about how to ride a fixed gear bicycle before selling it to him, even just to tell him that it's usually a good idea to have strap and cage.
-
• #13830
^ he took it for a ride and used the pedals I had on there, I would have thought it would have been fairly basic common sense to have straps... perhaps hes just experimenting to see what suits him best.

It's not Bellas job to teach the guy how to ride his bike...if he chooses to buy a certain kind of bike without finding out anything about them first it's his problem.
When i sold my house i didn't tell the woman to make sure she locks the doors and windows when she goes out. -

you have said nothing substantial in relation to the subject matter, instead posting juvenile pointless sarcastic posts. Be a man, grow some balls and write to me about your grievance, you clearly have one. -

the worse thing you can do is to assume that everyone have common sense!
It's just me really, I'm quite careful about selling bikes, before I do so I recommended them a certain lock, how to lock it, said that they should try strap etc. and 5 minutes worth of advice would make a difference just to help them get the hang of it.
I'm just being snobbery, ignore me!

Don't be a Dick Joe...Bella was using the word 'scene' to describe fixed gear riding as a whole...just simplifying things.
Having spoken to Bella plenty of times i can tell you she does exist....and loves bikes....she can't wait to get a chance to get her bike finished and get out riding....which is maybe what you should do right now?
Give her a break eh? -

Why should you care? I mean seriously, I don't give out a lecture or advice with every bike part I sell, if someone wants to buy something let them buy it and what they do with it afterwards is up to them, if he wants to be stupid and ride with no retention let him and all the other idots that do it do so, then when they crash and break their face they'll learn from their mistake :).

don't you want to leave the world a little bit better than it was before?
there's a slight different in simply preventing someone from getting harm (or worse, killed), and/or get their bike stolen the moment they brought it, and making sure that they object the NJS rules of every single part is perfect for their bike.
