What were y'all doing in Ill-town? Was being an Essexoffenger myself the last coupla days visiting family. You must have been the only bikes on the road. It's all cars and loud sound systems round them parts. Urgh.
Not today. There were probably >300 riders doing a 55/114k loop around Essex (including High Easter and Good Easter) :)
Still some knobs in cars though that need to be d-locked.

Dropout: was that you riding East on Bayswater Rd today? Wearing blue top and maybe Condor world champ cap? We looked at each other. I think I may have messed in my knicks at the time. You are a beautiful man.

Aaah Good Easter!
I remember bunking off school one day with a bunch of friends and cycling out to Good Easter Cemetery and smoking some Js.

Good route? I'm thinking of a similar route twice a week this year. Since I'm currently residing in Essex.

I obviously don't know the specific route - the scenery and roads are nice in that part of the county but it's not too challenging hill-wise round the Easters. Depends where you live but there is some decent riding Brentwood way (Warley mount etc.) if you are looking for more challenging training rides. Other than that if you're in the Chelmsford area do any loop that takes in North Hill, lt Baddow and/or Danbury.
I do all my training round mid-Essex - if you want any routes let me know - I can let you have gps routes.

It was good for me since I could output my awesome power (haw haw) without being beaten by pesky climber fucks :)
I enjoyed it although going out in the wet with bald tyres was dumb. Well sketchy.

The lovely tricitybendix in 14, admiring some colourful hubs.
Good to see you! Sorry for not saying goodbye properly, I got distracted by all the pretty colours. I bought the Halo hubs, and the purple rims. They match my crankset so perfectly it would've been rude not to.

Friday I rode from Romford out to Chelmsford staying off the A12 through Brentwood, Shenfield, Inagtestone etc and it's a nice combination of ups and downs. Good training for me, I don't know about anyone else.

Amen - there's even a bit of 4-5% around Brentwood. Yep, Brentwood, Essex.

I was bombing up Kingsland Rd about 6.30pm today, and waiting at a junction on the left was a guy in a bright yellow jersey and blue cap standing next to a lady with long blonde hair. Gotta be someone from the vintage ride right?
Ah photoben - was that you on the Panasonic with risers? We did share a nod of vague reconition I think.
I bailed on the post ride beers due to a lack of lights and was headed home. No clue who the blonde was, she happened to be rolling in the same direction.

I'm on a black BJ heading the other direction most evenings, although usually a little later :)
We need something to call to that guy so he knows how famous he is...
I'm either on 70's/80's dawes galaxy with downtube shifters (commutenger, usually in high vis top and with one panier) or a black raleigh (polo bike so probably have a mallet attached to the toptube)... I usually commute quite late too... but generally have my head down so rarely notice others... to busy sweaty and swearing at traffic normally.
His name is Chris, so you could call him that? In american football parlance, the helmet is generally refered to as a lid (which he tends to do) so maybe "Chris the lid"?!
The crane, that would be Harry.major and Ev returning home after wests polo.

Yup that's me, there was a micro-second nod as I went past.
Looking forward to the next one when I can make it!
Ja.
