Who the hell rides to Brighton (or anywhere for that matter) using 650 tubs and doesn't carry a spare? They should be beaten about the head with a wire-beaded 700c until they promise never to be so daft again..

Aha, I thought I spied someone riding a 43" gear over the bridge on my way home.
A bit late, but I spotted a whole load of forumengers on Tuesday when I met a couple of friends after work at the Kings Arms on Tooley Street. It was a bit weird the way more and more cyclists trickled in, one even carrying a Nagasawa frame. By the time I was ready to leave, I decided to come over and find out what the occasion was, only to discover it was an LFGSS gathering - spoke briefly to John and, I think, Gerald with the Brooks courier bag and plus 4s? Maybe I should turn up deliberately one day.

In London, you're never more than 10' away from a forumenger.

Jonny,
I recognised your bike, but your (forum) name had completely gone out of my head, cheers for trying to help. We managed to get him a taxi to the nearest train station then train to gatwick then he joined us in Brighton for beers. Your right, the weather did pick up and once we had left the fallen the speed picked up!
Thanks again for trying to help
