I "hardened the fcuk up" and put my new brake on. Took a while to get the pads aligned and toed in.
The bolts are all cranked down and I think they'll hold.
I'll still get some of you gearheads to take a look at it on Sunday though to make sure I've not missed anything.
Thanks for the offer Tommy. I'll buy you a pint on Sunday.

andyf Hey guys. This sounds wicked and I'm very keen but...
How long will the ride will take? 80kms seems a really long way, but I've also got no idea how far I ride each day. It's about 35mins to and from work for me, so if this is going to be a 5 hour ride, I think it may be too much.
And will the normal Sunday social ride be going ahead? It seems a lot of the social ride crew will be doing this Brighton ride.
Come to Brighton. I did it in the pouring rain 5 months ago and that was only about a month after I started cycling. There are only about two nasty climbs - Turners Hill and Ditchling. Ditchling is only about a mile - watch for the name Pantani on the road and you know you've reached the end - and then it's a long dragging descent down to the sea.
These guys tell me I can do it (they aren't kidding when they say I'm crap at hills), and if I can, any regular cyclist can do it.
Have a hearty porridge breakfast, bring sweets - but make sure Hippo doesn't sniff them out.

I am all for the remembrance minute too.
I think what with all the Whitehall ceremony road blocks we will cross Vauxhall.
This ride will be fine for all skills as we aren't going to leave anyone behind and there are always train stations to bail back.
I think I will stay in Brighton for some grub then take the train home, not sure, see what happens.
Remember to bring food and water.
Stoked, only a few more days.

Nice one to everyone who's joining!
Personally I think the duration depends more on the stops than the av. speed. It took ages in May cos we went a slightly funky route and stopped a lot.
MA3K's right, lots of food and water, cos the distance does catch up by the end.
@ Jonny, will ride the geared if necessary, but think I'm poss getting a kind fixed lend off dogsballs for this = happy!!! -

Hey, I've been added.. how did that happen? I'll probably do this instead of the club run anyway. More interesting. Not sure about train back or ride back yet..
Now you will really get to see how well your saddles match your arses!
As well as food and drink, bring spare tubes and multi-tool and cash.

okay...im seriously tempted by this now....but still got the remnants of a nasty chest infection thing going on; think its cold air asthma?
My worry is the hills making me chuck me guts up and annoying people with my habitual coughing on the way down. Sounds good eh?
It would be shame to miss it and be nice to video it for sure....and the reward of fish and chips and a lung full of sea air sounds too good.
mmmmmm...... -
