Do it!
Buy the Hed3
You know it makes sense.Haven't heard of Hed3's failing (awaits 37 posts with answers to the contrary). Best to ask seller how long they've had it for and if they know rough mileage.

Tub or clincher?
Crashed?
Damaged in ANY way?
Repaired ever?
Age AND mileage?
Braking surface - how much use/how much left?
Bearing condition? -

You're too old to be a hipster.

and you're too old to be a hipster..

I would post a picture of JoeSlain to refute the "too old to be a Hipster" but am too lazy.
It's a clincher, some light scratches to it, other than that the chap has not been particulaly fulsome in his description other than to say that there is plenty of life in the braking surface.
I will be (if I buy it) diluting my new Hipster points by running a front brake, so that is important to me.

They go soft with age. All the original specialized ones are now 'soft', but unless you are racing on it, it will make f all difference.
Don't buy a tub for every day riding, foolish idea, best avoided. Check that the rim is still well bonded into the carbon and there are no cracks.
And don't pay more than £200.

No chance of me paying more that £200 for it at the moment- my holiday at the start of the month has murdered my bank balance.
Cheers for the advice Guy.

This happens immediately after fitting it to your bike every single time. It's a HED coverup, with Tynan in charge. Every photograph is just photoshopped, or moments before the inevitable crash.

OMG, murtle is going full carbon/full hipster wheels :S imo the geekhouse should only hav 1 carbon wheel, and that would have to be a front. . . -
• #169
The murthouse with spok rear and HED3 front would look totally rad
-
• #170
no it would look sick (in the bad sense) lol eugh spoked wheels ftw
-
• #171

I have had my Hed3 for a while now and have ridden it exclusively on the street. I have yet to have any real problems, only the slight issue with cross winds.

lol true that
Watching a front HED3 on eBay at the moment and just wondering how wise it would be to invest decent money in a second hand carbon fibre wheel.
I'll have spent quite a lot of money on having my teeth replaced by the end of the year and am keen not to spend more on something that will fail dramatically and knock them out again.
What pertinent questions should I be asking of the vendor regarding age condition and use, or should I just forget it?
