After boasting about not having to rush to my aldi, i went there today and everything good was gone :-/
I did get some of the merino arm warmers, which for £6 seem pretty OK -

I got the turbo. It's simple and solid. No complaints after two sessions on it.

Picked up a jersey, merino socks and base layers. Pretty happy with them for the price - even if they only see me through one winter.

Thanks Aldi for not fulfilling all the web pre-orders and instead sending stock to the stores. Shove your no-hard-feelings-here's-your-refund email up your arse.

Here's a video from the rear camera from this morning. Sound is horrendous so I need to do something about that - I reckon a little bit of foam over the mic would probably do the job. Reasonably happy with it for £40 though. Feels a little bit like people were giving me a little bit more space than usual.
Went over a cobbled section at 7:40 or so. I was on an MTB, so might not look as good on a road bike. Funky gold building at 13:40.

Tested mine out last night - Feels well built and decent video quality. Shocking audio though. Maybe something covering the mic to reduce wind would help?.
One thing I could do without is those fucking loud beeps which scared the life out everyone in my office when I went to charge it yesterday afternoon!
Can you change way it breaks video into 5min segments?
Also, recommendations for a suitable MicroSD card? -

Beeps are ridiculous. Tried mine this morning. Video quality isn't great, maybe I'm spoilt by GoPro Session? Also, no looped recording is a bit silly. Oh and the velcro strap isn't amazing. I think the real one has a rubbery backing to the strap to stop it moving around, this doesn't so can spin a bit.

Made use of this years gloves today - man, they are not grippy at all. Teetered on the edge of cramp the whole commute in.
Might have to stitch some sort of non-slip material into the palms, but for a fiver I really can't complain.

No looping - so if it's full it just stops recording? Bit of a pain, that. I haven't used mine yet, as I'm trying to work out if I mount it upside down on the seat stay.

I've read that it just overwrites the oldest file when it runs out of storage. I suppose this is the reason for the short segments.
I wiped mine last night and will record both commute journeys today to find out what exactly happens when it runs out of space...
-
• #622
Ah I'd read exactly the opposite. It's got an 8GB card in there and the commute in took up just under 6GB, so I'll also find out what happens this afternoon.

The word on twitter is that the firmware is almost identical to the Cycliq, to the point that it even has functions that aren't listed in the Aldi's manual.

I can confirm I was talking shit, it does indeed loop. The picture's not great but it'll do.

Such as what? There's definitely some fiddling that can be done with the blank config file
Was almost tempted to pick up one their cheapo turbo trainers in addition to the usual sock/base layer/lights haul yesterday... Anyone used one?
