  • So have I.

I've got my eyes on the Haribo

I thought these were going to be Nitto rip offs. Or something.

  • I've just bought a pair of the winter riding trousers, and a light set just as some additional flashers as the days are getting shorter. I have to say that the trousers seem superb value, at only 13 quid, they are comfortable, and if they do what they say on the tin, ideal for my 6 mile commute. The lights ain't the best quality, but at 4 quid worth a punt.

Don't bother with the lights- the brackets are cheap, brittle, poor quality plastic, and didn't stand up to the rigours of a 6 mile commute! The lights themselves are now velcro'd to my helmet!

  • aldis summer special buys coming out from thurs 6th may

  • Picked up the soft shell from Bexlyheath yesterday, looks ok, will see how it wears. I'm a size L though, just shy of 6' 2" but thin so anyone who is not thin like me will struggle, size M was ridiculously stitch bustlingly tight.

  • Medium had long enough sleeves?

  • Sleeve length was ok, but very tight on fore arms with one layer underneath and and even pretty tight with bare arms / t-shirt only. Also a little tight across shoulders for my liking, I'm not sure if it was the sleeves of the shoulders but I herd some straining as I struggled the M on. Some of which is personal preference and if you envisage ever having any layer(s) underneath. I do like my cycling tops to be close fitting but not tight tight.

  • well done for posting a link up for all to see...

  • your lock should not be able to be harmed by those or you should get one that stands up to this.

  • New jersey, new shorts, new cycle computer = £19. Thankyou Aldi. The stuff isn't half bad either.

My brother also came along, and walked away with one of the jackets for £15. A women's jacket. Ha.

  • It was tongue in cheek - I mean, I'm sure bike thieves would never think of buying a set of bolt cutters would they? They'd have to come on here and find a link I helpfully provided...

  • My ma just sent me a text to say she was in Aldi (not sure how far South this budget supermarket chain extends?) and they had various cycling bits n pieces on sale.

    Aldi Sale Started 16th Sept

I asked her to pick up some of the 'cycling trousers' which are well padded in the gusset region/arse (£13) and a pair of the gloves (£5). The trousers are ace for the money and so are the gloves.

    Trousers are like these

The cycling shoes dont look bad for 20 notes as well.

  • Try typing Aldi in to the search up there^.

    Hippy!

  • The shoes are £20 now? Crikey- only £15 a year or 2 ago.

The shoes have improved. They now have ratchet buckles instead of just velcro.

  • Bike stand! Bike stand! Bike stand!

  • love this thread title!!

I picked some of these up yesterday morning, three velcro straps on mine, no ractchets.

I thought the same, although I did have to read it twice!

  • Lidl has bike work stands soon. £29.99

    Really?

I have some from about 3 years ago with velcro. But I noticed last years ones looked much better and had ratchets.

  • Have stuff back in, picked up a load of cheapness on monday. Seems very good quality for the money.

  • Lidl have got copies of SKINS compression base layers in at the moment.
Shorts, Socks, short sleve base, and sleeveless base. (£7.99, £4.99, £9.99, £8.99)

Not as good as skins, but pretty damn impressive for the money. I especially like the socks.

  • Picked up a track pump - Doesn't look that bad for £5 - Metal body + shaft, pressure gauge, dual head etc. Time will tell I spose...

Had one of those. During mid pump the cheap plastic feet sheared away from the pump.

...but apart from that it wasn't too bad :D
