All these people telling others to wear helmets (or telling people not to) they need to be argued with. Surely he has an opinion we need to hear about?
Also I don't give a toss about this thread, but I like the opportunity to vent that is the other cyclists are muppets thread.

He would allude to the fact there is a better alternative to helmet wearing or not wearing, but not actually suggest what it might be whilst dismissing all views others may hold on the subject. It is a very special talent and he should be respected for it.

Where's good for buying helmets in London?
I'm not too fussed if it's slightly more expensive so long as they have a decent range to try on. I was thinking the big Evans off Gt Portland St, any other suggestions?
Cheers

Decline in Australian head injuries linked to helmet law
but not sure how this compares to the reduction in numbers of cyclists and the overall impact this had on peoples health

The article doesn't really give enough detail, but the correlation alone appears to be specious.

The improved cycling infrastructure and more people riding make a bigger difference than the fact it have a helmet law.
If Britain have helmet law, you can easily claim the improvement in cycling safety is down to helmet which isn't the case.

The authors tested human skulls with and without bicycle helmets in drop tests in a monorail-guided free-fall impact apparatus from heights of 6 to 48 in onto a flat steel anvil.
So no new research at all then.Thread continues...

Even if it's fitted properly, it's not a typical crash where helmet can be useful in.

the last time I face planted into the back of a car (an ex minicab job, with no working brake-lights, I realized it was stopping a fraction of a second to late...) I managed to drive my glasses into the bridge of my nose, and split it, which lead to impressive amounts of blood. The helmet I was wearing was untouched...
Just a nice anecdote :)

You know how a Texan fan boy might feel when he reads about Lance today. Nothing compared to what I am going through. My hero, my role model, the younger, balder, brother I never had - making a same-page repost.
What's the point of going on anymore?
