dogsballs get a bike rack thingy and bolt to wall off the ground?! then remove when you leave the company.
I work in the land of pink-shirted wine drinking accountants. You really think they're gonna let me do that??
-

Tell them to allocate some kind of space. In the freen loving world we live in today they must cave to the pressure eventually. Does anyone else in the company or even the building ride a bike to work?
I work in a massive industrial site and we've got parking for about 30 bikes dotted around the place.

We are a splinter group off the main company. The main company does pretty well to provide bike stuff.. just not in our building.
The alternative is Liverpool St station parking. I'm not so keen on leaving my bikes there. The Phils are worth more than most bikes in the racks! :S
Other guy here rides and MTB and parks in Liverpool St. so building management see it as a favour to find me a spot. Hence the sitch I'm in. -

buy a drill and fix something to the wall. be proactive!! will look good on the CV
-
• #81
Nope, no drilling in here. Will definitely be kicking up a stink about their cupboards and stuff though..
Methinks the boss wont like me "working" from home but I can't be Tubing for however long it takes my lazy butt to build a shitter just to park in Liv St and have it stolen.31trum: would you hurry up and get a new bike! maybe I will have the twatster frame after all.. :)
Can't even piss and moan about it to anyone here (hence you lot hearing it all).. fscking layer upon layer of companies and manglement..
Think I might have to knock some mirrors off Bentleys tonight.. -

I really wouldn't leave a bike at Liverpool St. The one and only time I've done that, I caught a glimpse of all of the dismembered bike bits lying around everywhere and was paranoid and stressed out for the whole hour that it was there.
I'm guessing that you're in a managed office? On the plus side, that means you can get as obnoxious as you like with the building people without jeopardising your job too much. Gently remind them that you are their customer, and that your expectation is that they will find somewhere secure in the building for you.

bribe the security guard with booze, he'll find a spot for you

Most toilet stalls can be lock / unlocked by a scredriver from outside. Put your bike in a stall close and lock the door done.

What floor you on? You could always hang it out the window ;-)

Yeah, kinda.. only problem is that it's managed by us! I work for the company that owns the building :S

Not exactly a quick option though is it?

Shit, we got trouble for hanging a bit of A4 on the window. Time to change banks and disappear..

Find yourself a bike-friendly employer. Where I am there are 5 car parking spaces (MD + 2 deputies + 2 disabled spaces) and a secure storage room with racks for 50 bikes. We got lockers, showers + clothes driers. Funny what happens when you get a couple of cyclists on the board of directors...

Is there a point in your building where deliveries come in? Like a loading bay. Maybe speak to soem of the guys there and ask about putting your bike there. Or an area where maintence guys hang out / have thier stuff, cleaning cupboard?
-

Start your own company.

my work is in lombard street. lucky for me there's a carpark downstairs where i can store my bike. but loads of ok bikes locked around bank/monument stations and tiny side streets. incl a newish trek road bike which seems to survive the day chained outside bank station. once saw a specialized dolce there with the front wheel unlocked...and even that didnt get stolen.
maybe would be theives feel out of place with the no of suits passing through the place

It used to be in the elec cupboard near the building maintenance dudes, but then they had to install equipment and this thread was born..

Too lazy. Is it possible to make money posting to lfgss?

Here the bikes just clutter up the office space. One in the server room, one in the meeting room, one in the... etc.

maybe would be theives feel out of place with the no of suits passing through the placeMaybe but the sheer number of people at LSS mean it'd be easy to stroll up, pick lock and disappear.
As for other places where bikes don't seem to disappear.. maybe they are replaced by insurance the next day :)
How long are they locked there? I'd be locking around the same time every day. Pretty easy for a cyclist who also locks up there to eye off my Phils or the lovely TI Raleigh paintjob and think "Ooh I'll have that". Surely not all bike thefts are desperate smack heads? -

"No bikes in office". Been told that already.

Kill them all. Nuke the site from orbit, etc etc.

Now we're starting to hear the realistic suggestions. Keep 'em coming.

Is there any bike parking in the company's other building?
edit: failing that the directors office?
I've mentioned it, yeah. If they can't provide alternatives and I have to ride a shitter to work.. I'll be the first one on the phone arranging a fire inspection!
