I will make sure to bring a sharpie to add something clever.
I'll check out the TT for sure as that won't be very difficult to get to. I was looking at each stage but got bored of the really slow loading times.

I was up the top of the brilliantly named 'Devils Beeftub' watching the race yesterday. What a f****** horrible freezing, windy day, like winter.

It's quite amusing seeing them all ride with capes and full fingered gloves, teetering over white lines and past impatiently waiting Stagecoach busses.
It's like 'real' riding. :)

Mark Cavendish lives in Tuscany and hangs out in cafe's on his refurbished Lambretta with his page 3 girlfriend. Can't say I feel too sorry for him labouring over that climb. Which give him his due he was right at the front of the peleton in.
Unfortunately Jens Voigt crashed and has had to abandon the tour. Annoying that.

I did, volunteering down in Exeter (Thursday), heard back about a week ago confirming place etc. Quite looking forward to it now!

Asked how he felt after breaking his finger in yesterday's stage, Jens Voigt said "I'm at 90%."
-
• #241
Asked how the road felt after being assaulted by Jens' finger, it failed to reply as it was still in a coma.

He abandoned because it was windy...

Ha! Highlights of the parade are ridiculous. Surely they can show something else instead!

How did I miss this, PRO riders & race going right past me, yet I totally missed it. GARHRHAHRGHGH
Though TBH now I actually knw about it, finding route maps on that website is still elluding me.
Makes for a stark contrast, few weeks ago some of these guys were on the Vuelta in heat so tough they were dropping from exhaustion. Flash forward, to the windy wet northern wastelands...
Its so windy, stage is cancelled, the parade lap nearly finish a few of them off as they are blown into railings, buses, taxis, parked cars, the wrong kind of damp leaves and cattle grids!*
*the cattle grid shot on a minute ago particularly poinent, wind blowing so hard, full waterproofs, full gloves and faces of soggy cold pain, having to que to get across the cattle grid without epic peloton carbones failure.
Welcome to England guys!

actually, is this tour of Britain actually competitive?
From the brief snippets of information I can get seems to be a bit of a jolly. Poor riders battling with parked cars, ped's, cobbles, debris in roads (though wind to blame there) etc.
Also those Sharp adverts, treat your target market like they are idiots, tell them about stuff they obviously already know about, bound to go down well, marketing fail.

If it wasn't for the Rapha Condor Sharp team I would have said that Sharp went down the kermit years ago.

Ha! It's like an end of season TDU. A warm down.
Unlike the TDU though, no one actually wants the riders on the roads ('cept us), including the coppers, etc. that are supposed to be protecting 'em.

He must have a massive finger if it takes up 10% of his body mass ;)
-

Jens Voight at 90% is still 90% more powerful than other humans at 100%. #jensfacts

I think they are getting the message that their kind on their racing bikes aren't welcomes on our roads ;)
The ques of angry people sat waiting in cars would be a bit off putting for anyone.
Hopefully the weather has now picked up a bit so no more cancellations and more riding can happen :)
jeebus.. The ToB site is fucking annoying..
