  • think i'll go to the track. not 100% i'll race though...

  • nice work yesterday andy!

re: saturday, who's joining me on the 7:19 to London?

  • cheers mate. gaspingkai has some amusing photos of me suffering. some which will never see the light of day (i hope)..

i may go out on a ride in the morning, so could get a train and meet you on-route. not sure i can hack two rides in one day!

my tip for the track is take as many gears as you have, i could have done with 48 x 14 as it was so still last night.

  • I hope Kai puts those photos up, pure pain!

Well done mate, you killed it for a first time.

I'll meet you guys Croydon way on sat morning.

  • i'll be on the 7.19 train, you gonna be geared?

    how'd andy get on then?

  • i'll be geared, kelvin. booo. fork currently with witcomb cycles, resurrection soon come.

promise i won't change gear tho - i'll singlespeed it!

elvis - i'll text you when we're setting off.

    lewis??

  • cool. i'll see you guys croydon way about half nine.

    weather not looking too hot.

  • f*ck the weather! see you there...

  • im conspiring with andy, got a training program to keep up with you know......?!haha, actually i have a 4+ hour mtb ride on sunday so im saving myself, will come to meet yall somewhere prob with andy :)

    Hey Andy 48 x 14 is a big gear for preston park! I have never been above 47 x 14 there and usualy use 46 x 14

thanks for the advice! i did a few calculations - i only have a 53 and a 48 chainring, so i reckon i'll give 53 x 16 a go. it's an 89. i'm not a fast twicther, but i can push a gear, so that could work out... i'll find out i guess. the 53 isn't track specific, just hope the chainline is OK; should still work shouldn't it??

  • btw - i'm about to buy myself a ticket for the roller race this coming friday. anyone fancy joining me?

  • yep, im in! or is it too late?!

  • well done on the ride yesterday boys, max as domestique excellente and lewes and paul for pulling me up most of the hills in the breakway!

Who fancies a bit of a night ride some when on bank holiday weekend? I was thinking maybe hayling island bout 45 miles , 75 from london if we could convince any of that lot

  • i'm back for that weekend so would be up for it.

  • i'll need to get some decent lights, but really wanna do a night ride

  • Pete and I will be doing the roller racing Andy so see you there!

Chain ring shouldnt affect chain line so im sure it will be fine.

good to have some locals to shout for! weather permitting, i'll be down the track on wednesday to see if i can improve on my first go.. hopefully with the right gear too!

  • yes i was rocking both a new orange deep v, and my londonfgss shirt! shame no one noticed the superghetto touring frame i was riding, has more mounting holes for every attachment you could ever think of, and more! out comes the file i reckon! and its super low BB with my ultegra cranks, gringing the fuck out of my pedals! oh well, i wanna treat myslf to something nice soon, maybe a dolan or a condor?

  • Make sure you say hi Andy, I will be racing this Wednesday showing off my new jersey....

  • new jersey? is this a new terminator one?

  • of course - the europeans. congratulations, that's bloody impressive!! masters sprint champion right?

  • i may try and get down to the track tomorrow night if i can manage it, is anyone else going to watch?

  • Yeah thats the one! in the 35-39 sprint, cheers mate.
