  • you're welcome to have a go on mine mate though you may look like a clown....

  • "spotted in Brighton - preston circus. some guy on a felt pursuit with green velocity rim and riser 'bar"

Uh-oh, the velocity and riser crowd hit Brighton.. Fixin' by the sea is now officially hip.

(no offense if it's any of you lot.. I'm sure I'll be lacing up some Vs soon.. gotta surf the front of the wave, right?)

If they were spotted on Saturday, it could have been one of the London crowd.. about 25 of them rode down that day.

  • sure i remember seeing a brighton felt on FGG some time ago. sounds like a nice bike, even with the risers ;)

  • sorry I had to shoot off half way through... wasn't the humilation of training with the ten year olds honest! glad the let me move up to the proper race for the scratch even if I was well off the pace.

Will be back next week though

  • enjoyed that session tonight, didn't really understand the rules though... my plan of get to the front and stay there as long as possible worked for a while though! didn't realise when i got eliminated on the devil... must read the rule book before going down next week!

good to see a few others there tonight! see you next week?

  • the guy with the felt is called Will, real nice guy, we did give him some stick about the rim hehe, but his into it. so i guess thats cool.

  • last night was cool. you're right andy, need to check the rules on these races. will either build up my bike for next week or get there early enough to get one of theirs.

    excellent tea and cake though.

kelvin and any others around, ride this weekend at some point.

  • Saturdays better for me...

  • Just passed a one-cogger. I was spinning down Ditchling road, they were pelting up it at a fair old whack. Black bike, didn't get much of a look at the rider. Any of you?

  • Elvis rides a black raleigh ss, but you've met him haven't you?

  • we've all got black bikes haven't we :)

not me yesterday, was in other side of town.

  • I'm in Brighton all day Wednesday. Weather permitting I wanna bring my bike down and have a burn about. Any interesting rides/routes? I fancy doing a couple of miles on the seafront, which is the more exciting - west towards Hove or east towards Eastbourne?
    Thanks,
    G

  • Going east, cycle path stops after a couple of miles and then it's on the road. rolling hills type stuff. not that nice a road though.

Going west towards hove and worthing is flat and cycle path all the way. nice sedate ride really.

Track racing 6pm if you're still around.

  • Thanks Elvis,
Think I'll do the Hove route then. Done it by car, wasn't sure if there was a decent if enough bike path/route.
I may well check out the Track do cos I'll have to wait around for the busy period on the trains to subside before I go back(I'm assuming, I won't be able to take my bike on the train at peak time?). Is it Preston Park? I'll prob just watch as I'll be with risers
    Thanks
    G

  • Yeah, no trains during peak. Can't remember the times exactly.

Preston Park starting at 6pm. No worries about watching, I haven't made it on the track yet! We'll have two NJS frames on one night.

  • and niether on the track!

  • Boom, boom ching!
    ;-)

  • ha ha. no andy will be racing his bridgestone i assume?

  • i figured andy would be, i'm only joking!

I reckon we should get the london down for a denim & risers track special though

  • not sure i'll be racing on wednesday - did 80 miles sunday which kinda broke my knees... but i'll come watch, and have some cake and tea.

  • i'll be down tomorrow, knees permitting, too...

southern trains you have to wait until after 7pm. it's ok any time on the first capital connect, but i would want to put you off sampling the preston park tea and cake, pistanator!

  • i'll be down, probably at the front of the pack going quick when i should be going slow and at the back going slow when I should be fast like last week...

  • I don't think chris hoy is going to be worrying about my performance

Good to meet you properly andy & max

  • yeah, i will try and race one of these days. cake is just too damn good.

need to get our own little session going at PP!

  • Good to meet you guys too.

I'm in London this weekend (and it looks like it may be a washout, anyway) but let's try and get some rides going after work next week, or the weekend after...

    Cheers
