There was quite a bit of moaning on some other threadbabout shutting/ not shutting train doors
It put me in mind of when trains were great and i loved them
Daily ride and back to art school involved regular old compartment carriages, with individual doors to open and shut, and later also guard van bike store and ride along side
Then ‘milk train’ (or possibly mail train?) journey from the West Country to Paddington that arrived at about 7am after about 6+ hours of every station stop but then I’m also 150 years old so none of this has any relevance now but trains used to be great #faredodger#fairenough -

Horsehair seat stuffing. Damn they were comfortable and as a kid I swear you could have trampolined from seat to seat from one end of the carriage to another.
Total reversal of fortune now as get on a train to the west and it’s five hours of park bench’esque comfort. -

Don’t think I love this (is there an “I like…” thread?) but it’s a fun waste of 7 minutes.

I remember when i moved to Dorset in 2000 and would get the old rattler up to Waterloo.
Had a smoking carriage that was horrific (and I was a smoker)Late night ones home, I would lean out of the window smoking (providing it was an empty train)

I stopped flying long distance when they banned smoking on planes. Haven't smoked for nearly two decades, but still can't bare being on a plane for more than a couple of hours.

I've been building models for as long as I can remember and love the smell of plastic cement. Thought it might be because of 25 years of sniffing solvents but I recently bought some AK Interactive brand cement and it smells like death so I think it proves regular acetone based cement is just a great smell

In my learning days in the print industry I used to have to clean the damper rollers.
Cunt of job especially when the ink had dried. Enter M.E.K. no PPE back then smelled divine, for the lungs eyes and skin not so much. Witchesfingers.
