True. I've managed to ask for doughballs both times and get dumplings, which is what I wanted, so can't complain. Lesson learned for next year.

i guess it doesnt matter much if you know what you want and they know what you mean.

i was sad it had to end so early although there was tension in the air and i noted more people willingly walking in the direction away from the carnival before they would normally have to. i didnt see any trouble though.

There were too many police this year, and while I fully understand the reasons for shutting down everything down early this year, from what I saw the police were being pretty heavy handed and making the post carnival vibe far edgier than it would have been otherwise...

They can do whatever they like now. Remember "the country owes them" and all that.
