Carnival sucks anyway...
Apart from the year I got stuck between some kids gang and the poo-poo, and the kids started throwing away every single wrap of weed they had with them... well, and the normal people like me started doing the only decent and human thing you can do, which is prevent the little children from touching any of that. That was a good Carnival.

a repeat of the recent civil unrest
I rode past the Ladbroke Grove KFC one lunchtime earlier this week – there was a bit of a queue / groups of teens and 3 community police officers just hanging out chatting to them.
Best response to the rioting that I’ve seen so far. -

Sunday is the best days to sample some food and tunes, I've got the added bonus that the parade starts around the corner from where I live. The only disadvantage is the helicopter hovering overhead for most of the weekend.

And the people, every single one of them.

you get shit, cos you go to the shit soundsystems...... If you want Bright Times, Easy Livin' and tip top Soul, reggea and ska...... Gaz's Rockin' Blues on Talbot Road is where its at.... still the only soundsystem to have live music every year..... no fuss, no police, no rude bwoys.... just pure unadulterated Bright Times.
Gaz is the the man with the plan..... fuck Norman Jay.
Got coaxed out by my flatmates and have to say, gaz's is where its at, although, pineapple tribe tomorrow is not looking too shabby either (if you like that sort of thing)

Using a combination of dubious scientific rationale and blinkered observation, it's clear that Courvoisier is the drink of choice this year.
All Saints Road is still good for getting down though.

Clapton is like paradise today.

Using a combination of dubious scientific rationale and blinkered observation, it's clear that Courvoisier is the drink of choice this year amongst yoots wearing tight ed hardy t shirts pushing their way through crowds of people enjoying themselves. adidas has big presence, obviously following their clever ploy of using uk grime scene faces in their advertising.
gazs tow bar is still good for getting down though.
boneless jerk chicken , rice n peas, small salad £6 litre bottle evian £2

I've had 2 lots of jerk chicken this time around, neither boneless, but with doughballs and coleslaw, from a house around the corner from me.
Half tempted to nip out for my third...
make it three days then, 1 million over three days.
a better solution.
