You could try the London Chroming Company on the Old Kent Road (near Toys r Us).
Expensive, not fantastically friendly, but very good.
I have used them for both car and bike stuff - don't give them anything with threads you don't want messed up though...

dropped the Merckx off with Mario today for a shiny new blue coat- should be done in about a week. Will post pictures.
Mario is a lovely chap and very reasonable - his workshop is bloody hot though!

Has anyone had Mario get anything chromed for them as well as painted? I'm thinking just ends or perhaps 6" up from ends.

Anybody has problem with the paint's durability?
My Grubb has some places which are quite good and some bits are very flaky.
For example there are chips and scratches on the top tube from the time it was locked outside the pub and the the bike decided to slide down the railings. Nothing drastic - just a surface scuffs on the gloss which I can touch up.
Then there are some nasty spots on both the chainstays and seatstays which have white deep chips. The same for dropouts where paint looks very fragile and brittle. Perhaps the final coat wasn't applied properly, as I can see the difference in gloss? How's the durability of your paintworks, guys? I'd like to use Mario for another frame. I know powdercoat is more durable, but I need something more special and custom and Mario is the best near me in cheap custom "full service" type jobs.

The main problem is that the old enamel paintjob were pretty tough (almost as tough as powdercoating), but due to health and safety, the enamel paint are a lots more prone to chipping nowadays.
Once I get the frame. Need money first. Wanna buy the mac? ;-)
