What's your favourite gear ratio?

46/17 baby!

49x17 on one bike, or 42x15 on the other... might go to 46x15 tonight. Bless the flatness of Adelaide.

just gone from uber spinney 39:16 to 44:16 up here in Edinburgh and really noticed it riding into the wind this morning.

is it true that it's better to have a gearing of even numbers? like, 48/18?

I've ordered a Genesis Flyer 2009, do you know which ratio will it be ?

..so I guess that's 48:18, right ?

48/19, perfect for speeding up & slowing down quickly.

48:17 but every time I go out I feel compelled to sprint everywhere too fast so a spinnier 19t is on the way.

48:18 which seems to be okay at the moment.

Oxfordshire is pretty flat so as I get stronger and fitter, I may go to a 17 rear.

With freewheel I go 48/16
