Is this rim join an issue (Kinlin XR31T)? I thought it might close up when the wheel was fully built but I can feel it under braking

Recommended low cost solution for 12mm through axles in a standard truing stand?

Cheers for the info!
I’ve been thinking - I’ve got a pair of Ultegra 6500 hubs laced to Mavic Open Pro SUP rims sat in the shed with very few miles... as I’m on a budget would I be able to swap hubs over for the r45?Spoke calc says front hubs are near identical - rear spokes are:
R45 - 295.5/294
Ultegra - 297/295.1
Will the 1.5mm difference on the nds cause death and flames if I spend this evening swapping the hubs over? (Then have them tensioned and trued at LBS)
Cheers,
Matt -

Tension: 110 kgf average front and rear, track hubs so symmetrical. Enough? Old mavic open sup ceramic rims.

If the Ultegra/Mavic wheels have been rounded down to 296/294, you may get away with it. If not, I wouldn't reuse them.

Wet and dry and smooth it out. Takes about a minute and hardly any material needs to be removed.

Go by the profile. If it matches then it should work.

Rear hub flange diameters are too different. New spokes should be used. 1.5mm difference is quite a bit and risk is spoke failure at the nipple. The op rim is not stiff and flex combined with spokes that are too short may cause unhappiness.

Years that enough. 900n on the front is enough with non tubeless rims.

Yes that works but...only up to a point. (I did it to a Kinlin XR31T.)

Not sure where else to post this; you guys seem likely to know about hub servicing though.
eBay auction of some wheels says this:
Rims spokes etc are in great condition the hub bearing need attention as they're stiff.
Selling these as the need the hubs servicing!!!!
How much could it end up costing to get them rolling again? De/regrease is a piece of piss but what else am I likely to have to do? Does anyone know what these hubs are and whether they're loose/cartridge bearings?
Crap low-res eBay photo attached.

Seals make me suspect cup & cone. So could mean new bearings and a regrease if you're lucky or a f*cked hub if you're unlucky.

"Stiff" bearings suggest poorly adjusted pre-load to me.

@russmeyer @Scilly.Suffolk cheers guys, I had the same thoughts.
There are full-res pictures on the non-mobile version, mobile eBay is just shit apparently. In those you can see that the hubs are SRAM 406 which are cup and cone and not especially expensive. And looks like the spacing is 108/145mm which is no good for me.
This is the auction in case anyone else fancies their chances: https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/26-mountain-bike-wheels-etc-sram-hubs/323068306614

We got it sorted, ta. I've now got 4 wheels to build tomorrow assuming everything that's due to arrive does. You got a website or owt for future reference? I'm sure we'll manage to fuck up ordering stuff on time again sometime soon.

Good to know, cheers.
It might be, but how would anybody know when their chart doesn't specify the ball diameter and count?
