Where's the best place to get those bearings Tester?
http://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/p7911/SKF+E260002ZC3+Energy+Efficient+Shielded+Deep+Groove+Ball+Bearing+10x26x8mm/product_info.html assuming that's the right size for Novatecs, check for yourself before ordering!

• #1129
are they those perfectly round ones ?
-
• #1130
No bearing is perfectly round, and E2s are no more round than normal SKF bearings, they just have low friction cages etc.

I would like to build up a new fixed wheelset with some polished archetype rims.
I'm thinking 32 rear 28 front, I fluctuate around 72kg and commute with a bit more weight on the rear.
32/32 has served me fine so far so I reckon I can cut a couple of front spokes.Any recommendations on hubs? I'm not loaded so as much as I'd like royce/phil it's unlikely to happen, but I don't mind investing in them as I will use them a lot.

Any recommendations on hubs?
Haven't we just been through this? Novatec work as well as anything else. Stick to 32/32, if you're racing you don't want anything like the wheel you describe and if you're not then losing 4 spokes won't make any difference apart from being a PITA.

Yes sir :(
Thanks though, I'll go utfs now>>>>

Not for 20/24 hole drillings
If you are a pro riding 6 day races Shimano will slang Dura Ace C50 rims on custom drilled 7710 hubs for you.

Anyone use/own this?
looks cheap and cheerful, but I've had no bad experiences with Tacx stuff
-
• #1137
Probably OK for odd jobs.
-
• #1138
yeah seems quite compact.. more so than Park ... and it can clamp to my kitchen table. Because bike shit lives in the kitchen as well, obviously.

Spare bars are great for stirring stews and chopped inner tubes make a great pizza topping.

What do you guys think of these?
32/32 velocity A23 on white industries hubs (all my normal cogs will then be redundant but we'll ignore that for now)if there are no import duties they would cost under £300 delivered?scratch that, converted the price wrong, fair bit more expensive and import duty will apply... Ends up around £430 so not worth it.Also have heard that the A23 rim is tubeless ready, and I one of the reasons I'm building a new wheelset is so I can use it for cyclocross as well as daily riding, so the tubeless option may prove to be of benefit to me?
Brutal honesty welcomed

I borrowed one of those stands to build some wheels, did the job. I have not used any other stand though.

Apollo - I have that stand and have built/maintained a few wheelsets with it. It's not super sturdy or precise but is nice and compact and a step up from a tape/cable ties/old set of forks arrangement. You're welcome to borrow it if you want to try it our. Beagle has it at the moment.

Phil wood rear - tokyo fixed (£101.50)
Phil wood front - jenson usa (get them to price match the lowest american price should come to £100 total)
DT swiss spokes (cheapest at Rose bikes) -

Hmm, phils do weigh a tonne though... Thanks for the heads up though, for Phil that is a bargain.
Been looking at mack as well for light weight (shiny) hubs. Will have to get in touch with hubjub, if they stock the new A23s (tubeless ready) that sounds fantastic. if not I'll still probably buy either the old A23s or shiny Archetypes from them.
If im sensible and decide to go cheap but reliable with Novatec, where the fuck do you get them from? Struggling to find anything but road hubs from uk shops?

i did want to say mack but people seem to be getting annoyed with the customer service, and you're right phils do weigh a bit more than i'd like, i went paul components and am just taking the chainline hit. Novatecs:

you won't get hit with import on the bolt on, bdw ones, i've ordered from there a few times and never have but the risk is higher on the other set. -

amazing, think I will go ahead with the bolt ons, 2x32H (fixed/fixed rear)/
thanks for the link!

I had a23's on my last wheelset and they are lovely just bit heavy for what I want now.
lol.

Been looking at mack as well for light weight (shiny) hubs.Cheap Amboriso/System EX/etc. hubs with Phil Woods bearing, job done.
FWIW, I have A23 and Phil Woods high flange with 32/32, top out at 1800g, a difference you'll be hard press to notice frankly.
Only people who's very anal about it will notice the difference because they decided to.

Novatec, where the fuck do you get them from?
SJSC have them with Novatec decals, Planet X have them with On-One decals. Either way, they are about £50/pr posted.

Looking at this, is the Iron Cross just 700c Alpine? I think 100aa has been using Iron Cross rims with road tyres for a while now.
Stans are pretty clear that IC shouldn't be used for road high pressure tyres. Crests can though.
I blew a cx tyre off my IC rims at 50psi. Go figure.
Not my finest hour.
da 7600 for the track surely dimi ?
