My enjoyment has not been without incident though. First, I managed to bend the lockring ever so slightly, so that was replaced with a dura ace one and last week it looks like the bearings in the rear hub have gone. It still rides fine but they is about 1-2mm side movement in the rear wheel, so that will need to be replaced at some point, probably sooner rather than later.
Anyone else had any problems? I know the components are fairly shite but after 3/4 months i would have expected it to hold together a bit better.
You shouldn't have to replace the whole rear wheel, you should be able to just replace the bearings, I'm assuming they are cartridge bearings which you should be able to pop out and replace (a bit more involved than that, search for tutorials) you should be able to see the code of the bearings if you get all the stuff out the way and then just google it. I've a feeling it will be 6000 2rs for a sealed cartridge bearing, only a few quid.

I had my front hub in bits yesterday because the amount of riding I've done on salted roads has really taken it's toll!
Front hub is totally unsealed, there's no cage, the bearings just sit on a race and are covered in grease. I can only assume the rear wheel is the same. Having problems with your wheels? Give them a service I'd recommend.

I am the same height as you and I have the 58cm, gives a good aggressive riding position.

I've noticed that not only Evans but Fuji themselves are still showing the 2008 model. They are also still selling the 2008 model under the 2009 tag, I believe that this is because Fuji still have plenty in stock.
I had this out with Evans in Spitalfields after seeing the pics on this post, because I wanted them to beat Winstanley's price of £294 (http://www.winstanleysbikes.co.uk/product/16384/Fuji_Track_2008) as the do a price beater option. At first it was with their head office over the phone and they swore that it was the 2009 version that they were selling. When I went into the store armed with the picture of the 2009 bike I also noticed that they failed to update the tag on the bike itself making the assitant very apologetic and foolish looking.
They only have 4 left in the size that I want and so they said, if I wanted it, to put down a £50 deposit and bring in a print out of the Winstanley's website with the price on, though what that would prove I have no idea seeing as you can seemlessly change the price using Firebug for Firefox anyway.

The track pro looks sweet, anyone know where to get a googd deal on one? I've been riding a fuji track 2007 now for a year and a bit but the pro looks amazing, does anyone know what it would be like riding one on the road?
Check out this site for more info on fujis........http://www.fujitrack.co.uk/

I quite like how easily the 2009 Fuji Track can be 'unbranded'.
It'd only take a small length of black electrical tape.

Ha, what a lame site. The same geezer's bought a URL for the Charge Plug. Silly bugger.

Your right, i've no idea what the 2009 colours are. I was talking about the gray bikes.

I deleted my post as it made no sense - or very little, now your post doesn't. What I said can be our secret ;-)
The 2009 look bloody awful in my view. The 2008 grey bike looks great, so great I bought one. A little black tape over the stupid web addresses and a top tube pad, bmx stem, and flats has sorted it. Very nice to ride.

the 2009 look way better than the awful graphic and colour of the 2007/6/5/4...

actually the latest one isn't so bad after all;

That does look nice, not as nice as the previous grey one mind IMO. In terms of look the main things which are ugly on the Fuji are the stem, seatpost and saddle - replace those and it is a nice looking bike.
PS - I wish those wheels came as stock, alas no.

that made me look at the fuji in a whole different light
where you find that? -

Am I one of the few people on here who actually liked the 'road' look of the early Fuji Tracks? Mine is a 2006 model (blue and white), built up like a road bike, two rim brakes, clip-in pedals, and I haven't seen many of them around. I might get another fixed as an around town bike that looks less nickable (despite obviously not having been that expensive) and that is also better for tricks, i.e. flat bars and flat pedals etc. So many different styles available that it's really hard to choose!

soma steel 4gate toe clips
soma leather double straps
pedals (cant remember)
schwalable tyre up front specialised roubeaux rear
PAC frame padrest is stock. hoping to upgrade seatpost and cranks next headset and front wheel later.
plan on upgrading the frame in future but its all good for the time being. og yeah it was 07 blue to start with then i got it powdercoated! -

I think I may have to get one of these... I've never wanted a geared bike so much... pop on a Brooks Swift/Swallow and some nice old school brake hoods (maybe cream ones) and it's a serious winner!!

Connoisseur
I really like the Connoisseur, too, that's pretty much exactly my favourite style of bike. I already have my LeMond Tourmalet (not a good picture below; NB it is blue and silver, too), somewhat less of a classic look but close enough (even in price) not to give me a good enough excuse to buy another road bike.

I may have missed this but i could not see anything about the forks on the 2008 one.
Are they threaded for a quill stem for instance?
-
• #922
recent model incidated they're threadless from now on.
-
• #923
sorry for the lack of knowledge, but that means you cant add a quill stem?
I like them better that the ahead ones !edit : or is it something to do with the headset?
-
• #924
you can if you get the fork threaded since it's a 1inch steerer (as well as getting a threaded headset too)

thank you x
I took mine out for a spin in Brockwell park when I first got it. I went down a hill and by the time I got to the bottom i'd decided that fixed gear bikes were death traps. Ten miles later I had a brake and a revised opinion.
