  • I did 50 miles on it the next day. Fucking ace bike.

OK, just checked on google maps set to walking directions, and it's closer to 40 assuming we took the most direct route.

Ipswich to Framlingham and back with the Ipswich Bicycle Club, of which my dad was a member.

  • fair play, and good pic BQ

  • 50miles at 11 thats some going man i think thats probably my limit atm but that would be on a bmx cos my fixed is out of commission :(

  • To be fair, he probably had a personal trainer.
if this was post Home Alone fame? ;-)

when you're 11, you have huge amount of energy and willpower that you think you never have, kids can easily do even 100 miles in one go leaving their parents breathless.

never underestimate them, always challenge them in doing something they don't think they can do.

I hope you're recanting childhood observations and not something current and far more sinister. ;-)

Did you go the back route or via Woodbridge/Wickham Market?

  • Looks a little odd but I can't quite place my finger on it.

I do think it would look better without the deep vs though

Wouldn't have a clue. It was a long time ago, and I've never been very good at directions. We went down a lot of country roads with trees on. I remember that because my pedal fell off on one of them and my dad got a lot of ribbing from the other riders for not putting it on properly.

Probably the back way then.. Did you live around there as a child and move away then? I only ask because I grew up basically right in the middle of Ipswich and Framlingham..

40 miles on the first day? I can understand a young lad wanting to get out of Ipswich as soon as possible...
