  • Sure is, but I am more drawn towards her Arrospok button.

it's the well laid parque floor that works for me

    Dogtown was first...

  • My recent aquisition, built up with existing wheels, plus some new shiny bits.
    Raleigh Centenary (1987) 531c Frame, 531 forks.

Enjoying it immensely, better geometry than the Carlton.

  • That looks quite funky for some reason and I hate gold shit.
Swap the bars for something more period and it'd look a little less out of place.
    Nice one

  • my current whip. the poyner, complete with not quite rising risers,

    & me

  • nice toyota frank

I know, bling's not my thing either but the frame has novelty value. Agree about bars, they're horrible.

  • updated frame, got it shot blasted and clear coated.

    mug stays the same

  • is nice :-)

  • Noice!!!!

(Doesn't look like scaffolding though.) :-P

  • Nice one murtle.

  • Grey is the new white!

  • it's even clean!
Got to admit its very "this years colour".. you been reading those InStyle and harper's bazaar again?

@ChrisNW - was that cheeky bling number from ebait?

  • yeah, it's the first time i've cleaned it since i had it.
The finish came out slightly different to how i imagined, it's a sort of grey, but you can see the brass around all the welds and lugs. It's just blasted steel.
and thanks guys (managed to totally re-build it in 35mins:)

Wouldn't a bucket and sponge have been cheaper than sandblasting?

  • Me with my Peugeot fixed wheel (that's about to be sold due to the size of the frame sadly)

(I was 15 and a half stone in that pic, now 12 stones due to the little pug).

been cycling fixed for a year, but quite new to the LFGSS forum.

When it come to riding, I always seemed to sport a green AA hoodie.

  • Loving the DOF on that picture. Whats it taken with?

a film camera - I only shoot films since digital hasn't yet reach to the point where it can replace film (hence depth of field is much narrower in film, you can't get that with digital compact at all).

    think about it thought;

digital camera - big downhill mountain bike (or uber lightweight carbon-fibre £5,000 racing bike)

film camera - singlespeed/fixed gear, especially without brake.

  • I kinda agree, but am not a very good photographer.
Thanks to smeear for the old slr, it is amazing fun.

you don't even need to be a good photographer, just grab a disposable camera, and you'll find those photo have a little something that digital compact and the like lacked, like a bit of soul, especially when you're shooting mates and such.

actually the Holga would be the 'fixed gear' of photography, it have one shutter speed and aperture (one speed), a medium format camera (bigger than normal 35mm negative, thus 700cc wheels) but it gave each shot an unique soul, stand out from the norms (the fixie itself already do that standing out of the norms of racing and mountain bikes we see in the street everyday).

oh, and the Holga is only like, £20, cheap like a fixie.

New contender for ghayest bike eva!

  • this is me and my amazing SS........ total blast to ride, great standover height and low centre of gravity. oh at it was free cos its my girlfriends bike.

my fuji should be ready on sunday....i cant bloody wait!

T'is the one. Just need to decide how to replace some tired laquer without ruining the gold plating.

True enough, but... developing! What a nightmare. I'd never be likely to do my own developing, which means learning on a 35mm slr (my dad has an old olympus - OM10/OM20 i think) becomes costly. I'm thinking £5 developing and a weeks wait for 20 wasted shots to see what I did right!

  • takes an hour at boots for a 5er, then you can see which you like and take em somewhere good.
You're at cambridge? there'll be a society there which will have access to a darkroom.

Yeah, problem is they charge a packet or so I hear. Had a friend who went along and came back less than thrilled.

I don't think I could be swayed away from digital for the time being. The jump from a compact digital to something like a 400D is astronomical in terms of picture quality, and I think it would pay dividends in the $$$ saved on developing. Maybe when I'm old and rich and have loads of time on my hands :)
