  • Serious. But a little early for the studs? Unless they they actually are intended for combat purposes.

just bedding them in. They recommend 80miles on hard tarmac at full pressure to seat the spikes before cold weather low-pressure fun.

  • Ah yeah, I remember that discussion now.
A little sketchy on corners, no?

  • Dammit lost about 20 studs bedding his in.

I think I've lost about 5 in 30 or so miles...

  • 3 bottle cages???

  • I still don't get it. What's the point of paying through the nose for these boots if they don't even hold onto their spikes? My DIYs never lost any, and that was with moving them around a few times.
(From the inside out, then trimmed outside in, and finally trimmed from inside out).

I did indeed- Schwalbe sent me a bag of replacements, which I must get round to putting into the tyres before the really cold weather.

Jammy- did you lose the 5 or so from the front or the rear tyre?

  • yep lovely fleet peter v, particularly like the tarck and the unusual race bike. what frame is that?

  • Love that Toei; is the triple-triangle to compensate for a little larger frame, or more of a style exercise?

  • @ jonny thanks, it's a 'vintage' C4 (carbon monococque pioneers, Italy) from 1997, 3 main tubes & fork are composite, rear triangle is aluminium. setup weighs 8kgs as pictured. More C4's here.

@ OJAW thanks, it's a 1971 Toei Bluebird, I don't know the design theory behind the triple triangle though
