Is he going to give Nike back all the money?

Money was for cancer, you mean heartless man.

They gave him all that money because he had cancer?

Like that kid with leukaemia who kept getting all those toys.

Apart from the expected trotting out of the Livestrong party line, which is tiresome but so commonplace among lazy journalists that it's hardly worth mentioning, one line in that Grauniad piece didn't ring true to me.
The court of arbitration for sport could ultimately have a final say on his guilt or innocence
Is this right? I thought CAS, if UCI appeals to it, could rule on the period of disqualification including the disqualification from historic results, but that his guilt was a settled fact following his nolo contendere plea.

so you agree then?
To compete you don't need to be honestIt would be nice if all competitors were honest, but we know there are scumbags in sport as well as in life outside sport. That's why we have referees, and why we have courts and prisons.

We have Courts and prisons to maintain the status quo, and they are usually filled by, officiated over and staffed by bigger scum bags.
IMO.
I agree about referees though.

Having met many lawyers, prison officers, cops and criminals, I would aver that it's a slam dunk that the biggest scumbags, if the term must be used, are the actual criminals. Cops are in second place, then there's a big drop-off.
-

Between cheating cyclists and corrupt UCI, it looks like the cops are bigger scumbags than the criminals.

On that topic, what's the spread on FatPat's remaining hours in office?

what experience do you have of the courts?

About the same as my knowledge of cycling.

Judging by the muted reaction from the peloton it seems fairly safe to say everyone is still terrified of LA's associates and enablers still in the sport.

^^ Agree. Anyone seen any comments from David Millar or Wiggo? A very brief google search does not bring up much.

It would be interesting to hear from Wiggins, trying to reconcile his very anti-doping and pro-Lance stance.
I hope whatever he says, he calls LA a cunt.

Millar's popped up on the Twitters to say that he'll write something in long-form, rather than have a snap opinion in 140 characters.

I'm hoping that Millar gives a good 'I told you so' response. He's the definitive opinion in terms of British cycling on this subject given his history. Come on David.......

this. the playing field is still far from level.

All Millar commented was "Bad few days for the Armstrongs."

Good grief. It's like ee cummings with ADD.
Important news - Lance doesn't want anyone to weep for him. http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2012/aug/26/dont-cry-defiant-lance-armstrong
We await guidance on whether or not we should stop laughing.
